...except Christians, apparently. How on earth does a cross the size of my index finger offend anyone?
Right, there are more important issues in the world......but I find the softening of this country and the hypersensitivity to almost everything is an issue worthy of attention. I'm not asking you to agree that it's an issue, but I think it is. Again, the impetus of this thread is just that, nothing more nothing less.
But the "backlash" displayed here is also very much a symptom of hypersensitivity, so one isn't necessarily worse than the other. LSU is a public university with a very diverse student body, and it has an interest in portraying an image of inclusiveness to the general public.
Vincent already said why they were removed. Anybody here remember the uproar over the "Holiday Tree" idea LSU floated a few years ago?
correct. its different when cnn will not show cartoons of mohammed, because there is a the threat of violence, such that news orgs are afraid. but lsu is not a news org, in this case they are a marketing group. its like when you see a photo of lsu students in an ad. its never 3 cajun frat boys in a jacked up camo pickup. its a little indian fella, a happy black girl, and one white girl in a wheelchair and a mexican. and thats not realistic, but who cares? its marketing. lsu doesnt fear christians or non-christians, they just want to present a false image of inclusiveness in case people who are not stupid christians want to come to LSU. those people would be mistaken if they thought the death cult of christianity was not completely permeating the campus, but yunno, so be it. you can still learn engineering or whatever.
i went to vegas and called one of those numbers on the flyer for the hooker, and she looked nothing like the model on the flyer!? i cant believe it! marketing wtf!
I've often wondered if every school just uses the same photo and photoshops the logo and colors on their clothing.
