Did CBS have the score wrong? I saw LSU 36-21 at half but it was 34-21 when the broadcast came back for the second half. What up??
 Ok, I've got to pile on here. Sure, we're 15-13 and hoping to make the post-season, but HELL, we just beat the #3 team in the country!!!! :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :bball: ! Who thought they could do it? A few random comments then in the aftermath... Consider this is the game of college basketball. Great teams have off games, and good teams can take some time to find themselves. Yes, this may be the story of too little too late, but heck it's still damn good college basketball being played at LSU. Consider this LSU team beat Texas A&M, UConn and Florida. It's the bitter sweet picture of this season. So much potential, yet disappointment. Consider Brady's record against Donovan. It's not that bad. When folks doubt the "coaching" of Brady, consider that this is a team that in the face of a 3-9 SEC season, played its ass off and finally is learning to execute. The same guys that have been hearing from many that they "couldn't play in the SEC", like Rolle, Mason, Johnson, Lazare, played their asses off, and just beat a team with 3 or 4 potential NBAers by 10. Who says LSU lacks a point guard? :hihi: I was impressed as hell with our backcourt today. Temple and Martin outplayed Green and Humphrey by spades, and NO ONE would have predicted that. Temple played under control, dished out the assists, scored points, played great d. Martin hit shots, helped break the press, and hit some key free throws. It's a WONDER what some confidence can do and inconsistency does. Temple could be more than a decent point guard next year and his senior year. Not all is lost there, my friends... This was junior day wasn't it? If Marcus Thornton, Willie Warren, J'Covan Brown, or any other guards interested in LSU were watching today, you saw a very nice offense, with LSU GUARDS winning the game on national TV. Great crowd and lively crowd. The student section was rockin'. Glen Davis... this is an interesting one. Great to see him on the sideline cheering and being a team leader. I had flashbacks to Lloreda's season this year, but the difference is that Glen is a great team leader. The best thing this week was having him out and seeing that his teammates can play without him. Brady's got to figure out how to keep the energy level and motion on offense up when Big Baby comes back. Clearly though, there's something different with him out, and when he comes back the other guys need to remember that energy and fire. Now, we're hearing that Big Baby may come back for more... Lastly, remember... this is a team of sophomores. Lazare our lone senior played admirably in one of his last LSU moments, but the rest of the starters, Temple, Mitchell, Martin, Rolle, Johnson and Voogd, all are coming back for two more years. This is a young team, and a team that can get better. They had to learn how to play together and learn how to win this year. Perhaps this is the start of that... :geauxtige :bball: :champs: LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. WE ARE GATOR BEATERS.
great win. i didnt expect it. thought uf's frontcourt would kill us. great defensive intensity all game and great O execution in first half. donovan lost it for uf. their post players were raping us (except for the awesome rolle rejection)--especially richard. uf was too unselfish and didnt sticked with what was working. the other option for them was to just let green dribble all game and foul out lsu gotta lotta luck with their 3pt shooting being off. like to think it was all the D, but they just missed tons of open ones (so did lsu, but that alway happens) i love clark kellogg why wouldnt the refs call the hook against horford? gt another helluva line! tas stunk it up. doesnt seem like he can be THE GUY. good fg% but only 4 boards, 6 turnovers!, no blocks or assists.
they don't have corey brewers on every team in the conference. the guy is so incredibly long he frustrated tas on the perimeter. then, of course the kid has to go up against horford and richard down low, which are both matchups NOT in favor of taz.
In defense of Mitchell, I don't know how ANYONE can watch a LSI game and bash Tas'. Here's another local Parade All-American who chose to come to LSU and who at 6'7" 215 or so has to play power forward, swing forward and guard for this team. Yes, he turned the ball over some tonight, but look at when he scored and his hustle guarding a NBA caliber frontline. In key moments of the game, when a big score was needed in the second half, Tas' got loose down low. He's the most versatile player on this team and some of this statement is ridiculous. When you go back after then end of the season, you'll find that there were plenty of games where Tas' was THE MAN.
i didnt intend to bash tas. he's a good player, but there are strong indications that he will not be able to contribute to the team as much as the previous br native parade AAs. i hope i am wrong. he has become more assertive on the offensive side lately and scores off the dribble (instead of just layups, putbacks and open jumpers), but i dont think its enough. he's a well rounded player,, but can he get 15/10, or 20/7 or 25/4 a night? can you reliably count on him to score when you need it (against the opponents best defender) they way that davis and bass and lloreda did?
I agree with that. Although Tas didn't dominate this game, he always plays under control. You can trust him handling the ball and he is the most versatile player. When he needs to, he can get 10 rebounds and grind it out. Tas has been very consisten in his play, which is more than you can say about the other guys.
I am completely embarrased to admit this, but I had 2 free tickets to this game. I couldn't go b/c of a prior obligation in Gulf Shores, AL. The tickets went to waste. No one used them (but to no fault of mine), I tried to give them away to people on the Ms Gulf Coast but there were no takers since it was a last minute thing. WHAT A WASTE!!!!:angryfire
