I believe the deadline this year for underclassmen to withdraw from entering the NBA Draft is April 14th. (There's a proposal out there that would give underclassmen more time to withdraw because the NBA Draft isn't until June 25th.. there's no reason to have the deadline in mid-April.) April 26th is the deadline for underclassmen to declare for the NBA Draft. Jarell has until the 14th to return to LSU, otherwise he's gone.. I dont see it as mistake on his part. I don't see him as more than anything except a role player off the bench, maybe a 10 minute a night guy and I think that may be pushing it. If he is projected 1st round he needs to go. He reminds me of Dejuan Blair.
He really could use work on his shot but really this is a highly skilled 6'10" kid. His ball handling ability at his size will carry him a long way. I think he's gonna end up a pretty good pro. I also think Simmons coming in has a part to play as well. They basically would play the same spot

Sam Bowie was drafted before Michael Jordan. Houston picked Hakeem Olajuwon with the #1 pick. Then Portland picked Bowie with pick 2.
