Not surprised that we have a split down the middle on this poll.

I rather LSU going to the Rose Bowl, because I have no doubt in my mind SC would have lost in the title game anyway...

But like I said, could you endure all the crap we would have to hear about them and ole Petey from here to eternity?

    No thanks.

You haven't heard a peep about Pete or the Trojans for an entire 4 days now. It is really nice.

I wanted it all. I wanted USC to lose their chance at the title game and have to play us in ANY bowl game. Rose, Indpendence... any of them. There would have been no constant media references to their 4th straight title game and after the bowl game was over all Herbie and Co. would be able to say is "Wow, LSU really kicked their asses". Heaven.

We were just a muffed punt away (by Arkansas) from doing just that.

I feel the same way, Grad. It's not the fact that the Rose Bowl pays out more than the Sugar (both pay each team 15.5 million). I was looking forward to playing in the Rose Bowl--but for really only ONE major reason: To be able to finally get a shot at USC.

The Rose Bowl has always been Pac-10 champ vs Big Ten champ. Just like the Sugar always got the SEC champ, the Fiesta the Big XII and the Orange the ACC and Big East. The fact that we're not in the Rose isn't to say that I'm disappointed with the Sugar. It's not like we didn't get a bowl game that isn't of equal pay.

No. There's no guarantee that we'll make a Rose Bowl. But with the BCS, LSU making the Rose one day remains a possibility every 4 years (title game rotation), so I'm not all that heart-broken.

As for the Sugar bowl....Well, we made some history by becoming the team with the most Sugar Bowl apperances. And that's a great accomplishment.

So, for me, watching USC get knocked out of another shot at a National title WAS SWEET AS SUGAR! :thumb:
