HotDog, you must have attended a different game than us, because EVERY Iowa and LSU fan I spoke to after the game commented on the high noise levels. One LSU group made the comment that they were impressed that Iowa was loud when LSU was on offense throughout the entire game, and they felt that LSU fans didn't really show their teeth until the final 2 Iowa drives in the 4th quarter. I remember thinking the same thing at that moment. It's easy to cheer when you team scores a TD, but LSU fans hadn't really gotten loud when Iowa was on offense until mid-4th quarter. In your defense, it is easier to cheer when you are ahead than when you are down 24-12. After your score to bring it to 24-19, it was almost alarming how different the LSU crowd sounded then compared to earlier. Again, I was VERY impressed with the class and intelligence of the LSU fans I met. I even had a VERY hot LSU cheerleader say "great game" an hour after the game when we met her and what appeared to be her parents on a sidewalk. Blonde, very cute, very short, and had strong gymnast legs... Trivia: anybody know who she was???
THAT WOULD BE AWESOME... especially if you can make sure it's a night game in Baton Rouge... I attended the LSU/Florida game in Baton Rouge in 2001 with some LSU buddies, but it was a day game.
I made it to both games too, and I could not believe how cheap tickets were going for. At a few minutes before kickoff, people were trying to get rid of tickets for TEN DOLLARS. By the way Ashlee Simpson was painful to listen to.
Unfortunately I have to agree with you. The lack of enthusiasm shown by the Tiger fans for most of the game was disappointing to say the least. You guys definitely were the louder fans for the most part. I'm not sure if it had to do with the fact that Saban was leaving or that some fans weren't satisfied with being in the Cap One Bowl, but we LSU fans aren't usually that serene. I was surprised and disappointed at the lack of noise we made. That was definitely uncharacteristic of LSU fans as I'm sure you've heard about how rabid we are when it comes to cheering on our Tigers. Just consider that a belated Christmas gift. j/k
I've seen firsthand how awesome your fans are... I attended the Florida game in Baton Rouge in 2001... Awesome tailgating and game atmosphere, even though it was a day game (which I was bummed about).
