You make it sound so good when you say it like that. How do you defend a lineup like that?

You do your best to have your defense get to JJ before he has a chance to take 1 step back from center. After that point he will have had too much time to choose from an arsenal of unbelievable weapons.

    FANCON 5. I repeat, FANCON 5.

Don your hyperbole and irrational exhuberance protection. Secure thread from visitors.

And someone take away Izzy's keyboard until the danger passes. :hihi:

    TheDude I'm calmer than you.

I think the Shepard in motion is just maniacal. Probably even worse when he is under center and Holiday/Murphy/Calhoun go in motion.

He only has to throw it 1-2 times/game to keep them honest. And I believe a defense that is required to react to him, instead of anticipate, will ultimately pay big. Heck reacting to JJ is no day at the beach. I am just excited about seeing these guys come together. Hopefully the line does so at the same time.

Good kid. I hope he has a chance to prove himself.

Swerved It appears my hypocrisy knows no bounds.

    Well said.

In lieu of the season he had last year, I'm glad to see that this is his attitude. I have the feeling he's going to prove a lot of non-believers wrong.

I think he will have to throw it more than that to be effective. More important is how fast he reads and reacts to what the defense is giving him. True freshmen usually take longer making decisions on the run until they learn the offense and the college game. If he can think quick and make good decisions under pressure there is no limit to his success even as a freshman. If like most first year players he takes longer making decisions and seeing the field or panics under pressure it may take some time before he lives up to the extremely high expectations I see on this board. I look for him to contribute early and make some impact but I don't see him being a super star early in the season. I really really hope I'm wrong, we could use someone with his ability and the experience of a 3rd year player immediately.
