Orgeron on scholarships to punters/kickers: "Those guys are valuable options to the team. We have a kicking camp in the summer.

If we find a great FG kicker, we're going to offer them a scholarship." #LSU

They were talking about special teams in general and I think he was referring to getting a punter like the gumps have. Ours isn't bad but we can always be better.

Special teams are a lot more than just kickers, punters and returners... Some players who never excel on either offense or defense can be mainstays on special teams.

Possibly, one of the down sides to not having a dedicated special teams coach at LSU is that no one is researching and recruiting which high schools' "lesser star" recruits might be a star on LSU's special teams.

If the NCAA does not allow an additional coach next year, any idea which present LSU coach might transition over to "special teams coach" or which coach would go to make room? Is there a weak link in LSU's present coaching staff?

‘Is there a weak link in LSU’s present coaching staff?’....
Tap is going to sprain a finger responding to that hanging curve ball.

he talk's about the missed passes for TDs... the first FG should've been a TD but danny through the corner too late... my favorite one "Caller: "When our offensive line can learn to grab the defensive lineman around the neck and not get called for holding, then we'll be even keel with Alabama." #LSU"... truer words have never been spoken... funnynotfunny...

From Dandy don quoting the transcript

"Coach O answered by saying they consider specialists to be a very valuable part of the team. Each summer they hold a kicking camp and when they see a great punter or kicker they offer a scholarship. "

So both, culp has shown up for sure but he was suspect at the beginning of the year. I took it as finding another Brad Wing like punter. Just me though
