I remember watching UAB last year in the tournament and they were amazing. They played with a lof of intensity and gave Kentucky all they could handle. Two brothers... I think one of their names was "squeeky" or something weird like that. GREAT chemistry on the court and they play with a lot of confidence... UAB is going to be a really tough draw for LSU at this position and as much as I love em' if they are making the mistake of looking past UAB to Arizona... we're gonna be some SAD fans thursday evening.

They will be tough. They are a pressing team. They force somewhere around 20 to's a game. LSU could have its hands full. That is of course if they play UAB's game. LSU needs to dictate the tempo.

As much as some people dislike Minor, you MUST KNOW that there's no problems with the press when he's got the ball in his hands...You're joking, right?

BTW-I would like everyone to know I'm actually pleased with Minor's progress this year compared to last, and even in this season. There was a time a month ago that Whipple would have been on the floor during crunch time because of this staff's belief that Taurean wasn't ready...He is now, and though he made a mistake, I think it's wrong to villify him...

I'm also very pleased with Minors progression. He needs to learn he's not the number 1 option and needs to get better at penetrating and dishing, but all in all he's been stellar. When talking about the press, I was using this b/c UAB forces a lot of TO's. This wasnt criticizing of the way the Tigers break the press, but its a compliment to how this team plays defense.

upsizin, to take Davis out during OT would have been a really bad move, Bass would have been doubled and the guards wouldn't be trying to collapse. Big Baby is usually a very good FT shooter, he just happened to miss.

Minor hasn't been thinking of himself as the number one option for a long time now, he's done as good of a job at the point as any of the other PG's I've watched down the stretch.

I agree w/TE on this one - the press doesn't bother me - you think UAB's press is worse than Kentucky's? Anyway, we all know Tack is 80% non-coachable. I just wish he'd start playing D. Brady was so pissed at his effort against KU that he sat him most of the 1st half.

South Carolina beat Miami last night because their stupid coach didn't call a timeout to set up a play and instead let the guard go the length of the court for a layup before the defense could get set up. Man what was Odom thinking? :)

He just got lucky I guess - the resident basketball expert, TigerEducatedGuru, has already deemed this strategy ineffective. :thumb:

here's the problem--he's a poor shooter. against uk 4-13 (0-4 3pt). i think he needs to stop shooting so much, at least until he gets better at it. btw, that wasnt just a bad game for him, but typical--he shoots 37% and under 30% from 3pt.

this all seems a little strange given how prolific he was in high school. probably the height, but he does miss plenty open shots---see last uk game.

btw--i reexamined much of the uk game. tack did a very good job of getting the ball to the right guys---ok, except for the last play.
