LSU Men's Basketball - 2013-14

Discussion in 'The Tiger's Den' started by TGer'nLHornLand, Oct 20, 2013.

With a top 4 SEC pre-season prediction, what best describes your attitude about LSU Mens' bball?

Poll closed Nov 10, 2013.
  1. Still going to follow LSU football and won't think about LSU basketball until January.

  2. Cautiously optmistic--but I'll believe it when I see it.

  3. Coach Jones is the real deal, I'm taking notice... I'll buy a ticket to see a game before December.

  4. So psyched for basketball. I'm getting season tickets, and Football is only about A&M Bama now.

So, nothing on the 92-90 LSU UMass nailbiter?

So, LSU loses a close one against a good UMass team on the road. UMass was playing its second game of the season after beating Boston College. I would have loved the win, but I was happy that the game was competitive and close after LSU fell behind. Jarrell Martin gets hurt early (bad). But, some highlights are Jordan Mickey playing beyond his freshman status, good all-around game from Andre Stringer, and strong game from JOB (although he could have played a little bit better). I'm not sure about starting Quarterman over Hickey, unless Jones thinks that Hickey adds something off the bench.

In any case, I think as the team matures this season, there should be a lot of optimism. Clean up some of the sloppiness you'd expect at the beginning of the season, and this team is pretty athletic and much longer than last year.

They are saying the injury isn't that bad and he is expected to play this Saturday.
