I was a freshman 3 years ago and I thought that the attendance would pick up when SEC play began, I was wrong we went from about 3,000 to about 8,000 which is an increase but is about half full!:dis: We could really pac the pmac and fill it to capacity if we wanted to. The Kentucky game was the most embarassing I think they were a top 5 team and we could not sell out! I have been to all the games since my freshman year and I am not pleased with the attendance at all its appauling!
I went to the LSU vs. #1 Arizona game with my dad in the Stromile Swift era that place was packed and rockin. They guys running around wearing grass skirts and coconuts waving Lsu flags inside while the game was going on! Don't tell me we can't pac the pmac. The girls did last year they fit in over 15000 when they played Tennessee I was there to and it was loud! If you don't think we can fill the PMAC that is just not logical! (No offense intended I'm just agrivated with current attendance by our fans!)
this week was just sort of a bummer with finals week, etc... but there is no excuse... I go to all the games I can...
I took my sons to the McNeese game...lots of tickets left outside so you can get by cheap. I'm going to try and make as many as I can this season.
Well good for you... I mean that, too... b/c this is a very exciting team to watch compared to the past years, and I know that as a kid, I would have died to see LSU's Stromile/Jabari run in person, so that will be something very memorable for them and for us all, hopefully
Quote - "LSU never packed the PMAC even in the old day which we went to Final 4s." This is so wrong it's not even funny. The "Deaf Dome" was an awesome place under Dale Brown and the fans did pack it. Go look at the attendance figures, LSU was inside the top 10 and top 25 pretty much every year in attendance. Dick Vitale once named it one of his top 10 most awesome basketball atmospheres. There is no doubt that LSU is a football-first school. But Dale Brown really put LSU basketball on the map nationally. The crowds were nuts. Some people used to try to play down what Dale Brown accomplished, but they are pretty much silent these days. Now, I attended LSU for a couple of Brady's seasons. The probation seasons weren't his fault and I was there for the Stromile-Jabari run. Let me tell you, after LSU beat OK. St. in the Sugar Bowl Classic, every game after that was pretty much packed. I had to get there hours earlier just so I could possibly get in. The crowds were loud and awesome. It can be that way again. Brady has alienated a lot of people by his cocky attitude, total lack of coaching at times (last two NCAA tournament games) and his behaviour that causes every other player to quit or transfer. Also, his offense usually has no structure so LSU basketball is boring. He needs to win these fans over. I'll give him credit for putting some better OOC teams on the schedule this year (they're coming up). But his biggest problem is that he'll win a few road games...some people show up and get excited at the next home game...and the team comes out flat as a pancake (like against Houston) and he pouts the whole time. He needs to win those games when people show up and are excited. Otherwise, he loses momentum and has to start all over again. Watch and see if they beat a couple of these decent OOC teams. The crowds will grow. You win that first SEC game and it's on. But unfortunately, that's not what usually happens with John. If he doesn't get to at least the 2nd round of the NCAA tourney this year, they need to let him go. And one more thing, LSU held the largest single-game attendance record for years (even more than any pro game as well) until Mich.St. and Kentucky had a campaign to have the largest crowd ever. In fact, LSU has 3 of the top 10 of ALL TIME! That's unbelievable. Yeah, LSU fans never fully supported basketball. Here they are: #2 - 68,112 Superdome Jan. 20, 1990 LSU 87, Notre Dame 64 #3 - 66,144 Superdome Jan. 28,1989 LSU 82, Georgetown 80 #8 - 61,304 Superdome Jan. 3, 1992 LSU 84, Texas 83 P.S. Barely anybody ever attends December games because people are busy and the games are flat-out boring when you're playing boring teams.
You are correct. We did have some great game & PMAC were packed. I'm talking about the average attendence. If I remember correctly, the highest attendence was at Superdome not PMAC. :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
