They do have ticket promotions. You can buy all SEC home games (8) plus the Tulane game for $90. Just too much apathy in BR about this basketball program. It'll take a lot of winning to get people back to the PMAC.
I'm glad someone addressed this. As far as students geaux, the begging of the season falls in the worst time of the year, end of school and Finals! I have been so busy lately and have only made one game....but now I am out and will be at every home game from here on out. ps. I think it is wrong what they did to the student section and someone should be slapped on the hand for it! :cuss:
I hope you are right my friend. I long for a season where at least the Sec games are ALL sold out could you imagine about 15,000 crazy LSU fans getting loud in the PMAC I get goosebumps just thinking about it! Our fans are second to none it just hurts when nobody shows up!:thumb:
Yea, you're right. Why no one comes to support the team, I don't know. I havn't missed a basketball game in 2 years (including scrimmages). I know some people can't make some games, but if you can make it, show up. The Alabama game last season, the PMAC was definitely rockin'. All the other games were pretty bad. Florida wasn't too bad, but it could have been a lot better
Note: I am not referring to YOU. That is the attitude that most people have about basketball. They will only go out and support the team for a big game, when the team is on a great winning streak, or is having a great season. It should not be that way!
I usually make 3-4 games a year. In the mid 80's as a student I went to every game I could. I work shift work now so my hours change from time to time. Now that my oldest son plays basketball he has gotten more interested. We went to see the Hornets tonght because he wanted to go. I think the biggest problem with the lack of interest is people my age remember when Dale Brown was there and it was a great atmosphere, especially for big games. Now that said there were plenty of 3-4000 fan games early in the season but once SEC play started it was no less than 8-9000. At the end of Dale's career, things got really bad. The teams were not playing well and then we got hit with probation (I can't say Lester Earl even now without throwing up a little in my mouth). In comes Brady, he has to try to put together a team under sanctions and we hit a long spell of no post season...about 10 years. That's a long time to try a drum up/keep interest and keep a base of students in the PMAC for games. I grew up watching great LSU teams on the hardwood. When I went to school we were at a peak. If you are under 25 you haven't had the pleasure of watching some good basketball there on a consistant basis. Only in the last few years have the Tigers been able to put together some good teams. If this team can play the way it is capable and make a run into the NCAA's the interest next year will creep higher. Give a few years of this and LSU Basketball will be as fun as it ever was. And before anyone comes across with a "not with Brady" comment...KISS MY A**.
Most of your quotes are wrong except for the last paragraph. LSU played similar team in that era. C. Brady schedule this year is similar to the one which we played GTown. I were there every games since my kids attended LSU during Dale Brown pre glory years.
i think dale wouldnt have been able to do the same today. hot plate, cj, shaq and stanley would all have gone pro. without them there would have been much excitement under dale after the 81 team.
