1. I'm for throwing to whoever is open I don’t care what position he plays!

  2. I didn't say that. The post I referenced was complaining that we did not throw to the TE, which we clearly did this year

  3. I think working the middle has always been the beef. There was a game where receivers didn’t do much catching, but it’s because TEs and RBs took the workload. If it gets results, I couldn’t care less about where it goes.

  4. From looking at the stats, roughly 14-15% of our passes went to the TE, which is certainly an improvement over previous years. I still believe they are under utilized, particularly from a situational perspective (aka, 3rd down and goal line situations).
  5. It would also fix our red zone issues. TE make a living catching TD in the red zone!

  6. That's what I am getting at. In the NFL, the TE is almost always a mismatch and QB's make their living throwing to them situations when the field is shortened (Red zone, 3rd down, etc.). In addition, going to the over the middle, particularly early on in a game, can open up the running game and the outside passing game.
  7. You are correct sir!

  8. If you are the tight end I'm not throwing to you. I'm throwing at you. Or up.

  9. That would be the best blessing. Getting the TE's more involved.

I have always believe that, because we run fairly well and tend to use TE's to block, that if we ever got creative (1980's creative) and used our TE's over the middle of the field it could only help our run game.
  10. Ha, they hired a guy to coordinate the 15 pass plays LSU runs per game. LOL.
