I've been one of the first in line over time to give Brady the benefit of the doubt. However, it's all about consistency. Truthfully you just never know what to expect out of his teams in any given year, other than that they will play solid defensively. At this point we pretty much all accept the fact that he will be around for another year. If he wants to be around for much longer than that though, then imo he will need to radically change his offensive approach. Specifically, it can't be four guys standing around watching one guy play.
The water temperature in Henderson is 64. My personal March Madness is about to start.:thumb: Duke will miss the Sweet 16. Their fans feel worse than ours.
It may sound like sour grapes but I'm glad Auburn isn't in the NIT. I said a week ago that I hope we didn't go. I consider the NIT to be a tourney for losers. If you aren't good enough to be one of the 65 teams invited to the Big Dance it's time to go watch some baseball. JMHO and I know others will disagree.
 :hihi: I laugh at your post and Gumborue's post. Not b/c you're not entitled to the view, but it's just the kind of anti-Brady stuff that makes you wonder if ANYONE can succeed at LSU coaching roundball. So, yes, not making post-season play is bad, and I agree consistently getting into the post-season is something that all LSU fans should aspire to, but the point of my post was that let's not forget that there are some pretty damn good basketball coaches who have failed to make any tourney this year. And, what % of schools have ever been to a Final Four?... like 8 or 9% (that was from maybe a JeffinBama post some time ago). So, we're at the point where we're quickly forgetting that LSU has done something that no other SEC school outside of Florida and Kentucky has done in the last decade. Yes, it's been up and down with Brady, but in relative terms, are we really wishing that you could "take back" the final four, so that we could can a coach that got us there? :hihi: I agree with your last point though. Noway LSU is going to have a consistent top-notch basketball program, unless there is a unified approach to the game and greater commitment from fans, administration and results on the court. It's a multi-faceted problem climbing up the hill of hoops respectability, and it's not just Brady.
You and gumborue are in the vast minority about Brady and LSU basketball. Maybe it has something to do with being out of town, I dunno. You won't find a ton of fans in BR that supports him, even when he wins. I'm sure you blame the fans and not Brady, but that doesn't change the fact that he doesn't have much fan support. The attendance proves that point.
ummm, my post wasnt serious. i was making fun of "the sky is falling" posters. i know im pessimistic about tasmin's nba chances, but you should know me better than that.
To be clear, I've never "blamed" the fans for his lack luster year. I have brought up the fact that fan support in Tigertown for a program that has had two SEC titles, three SEC West titles, several POYs, a few COYs for Brady, a sweet 16 and a final four appearance have been surprising low IMO, considering the objective facts. I certain HAVE blamed Brady for this year, if you go back and look through all of my posts. I'm just reluctant to point the finger solely at the coach, when that's just not reality in any underperforming situation (that's not to say that I don't agree a coach CAN be blamed and be the corrective action). As for the statement that I may not have a pulse of whether the BR and LSU community feels about Brady, I can accept that. I'm sure that there are differing views, however, in BR just like there are on this board--you think about the Daddy Dale era vs. Brady era and the types of people and successes of their generations, how can you not have an opinion? That's why you pay Skip and the LSU AD the "big bucks". The make the hard calls, which may be is making the final four, winning a couple of SEC championships and a few SEC West division titles in the last decade, and having a relatively clean program where you're not being investigated by the NCAA not enough?
Ahhh... I stand corrected. I fell victim to the quick post. Yes, didn't mean to throw you in the wrong camp.
