It was to make a point. to say LSU is not a top tier program is asinine. Considering that we have been on the interview trail for what, 4 days and to see who we have interviewed and contacted, I feel Skip is doing a hell of a job and the names are a lot better than people think. Just because some aren't familiar with the names and are not breathtaking doesn't cheapen the candidates being interviewd. Its college football, not a beauty contest. What guy would a "top" program be interviewing if in our shoes? I'd like to see the real list we are overlooking. urban meyer or charlie weiss? Maybe Ty Willingham.
I don't know who people think is out there I don't understand who people want on the list thats so much better than the ones on it. Can anybody name one coach not on our list that at the current time would appear on OU, USC, ect's list?? I've got to agree with the Auburn guy- any coach at a legit top-15 program has no reason to go to a similiar program and start all over again unless: a) all he cares about is money, or b) he has problems with his current school Now in the case of A, do we really want a coach just concerned about money, or B, do we want a coach that doesn't get along with his school??
well made point - I would agree with you that we are defintely a top tier program but with so much momentum right now and such a big change in the works, it's understandable that some are questioning whether others feel the way we do about the program's status. To your point though, even corso and trev have recently referred to LSU as a top notch program. I think the names we see "on the list" are all viable given Saban's background when he came on board. (except for maybe fischer) but I also sincerely hope that there are some other names in the hat that are big enough to merit more discretion.
yeah, one thing id like is a couple NFL guys. Im quite happy with the process thus far. Of course my desire for Del Rio is myopic but hey, one can dream. I'll "settle" for tedford. :hihi: :hihi:
The question has been posed at least 3 times in this thread, so, islstl, who do you think (or who did you expect) we should be interviewing? And, Aubie16, you make some good points, but GFY anyway.
I think that most of those guys would be promoting from within. Miami did. FSU and OU probably will. Who cares about USC?
