Just the fact that Auburn's production was comparable between the two schools shows, and this is going to be hard for you to take, Oregon's defense is just as good as LSU's Two common opponents, both times Oregon held the opposition to less points than LSU. Get that in your head. No, the pac-12's defenses are NOT as good as the SECs from top to bottom, but our defenses are VERY comparable at the top. Look at Stanford for further support.

FIVE SEC teams ranked in the top 10 for loading up on cupcakes. There's plenty of reasons why your teams are ranked high every year. 1) you load up on cupcake opponents in the offseason, 2) you only play an 8 game conference schedule, leaving one more spot for a Lousiana-Monroe or a Chatanooga. Not impressed. Record means a lot when ranking a team. See Boise State and TCU. The pac-12's 9 game conference schedule means an additional 6 losses for the conference to pick up every year, making it harder for on-the-edge teams to stay in the top 25.

Going off that point though, I applaud LSU for scheduling this game and i can't wait for it to be played.

that article is garbage and totally pointless. The SEC schedule is difficult enough even though we start off against the ducks, go to WV, Bama, State, Tenn, and ole piss. We dont need to prove anything.

First game of the season is what I worry about. Last year we sucked out of the gate and got better game by game. If we try that this year we'll get our azzez handed to us. Oregon is motivated. They are playing not only for themselves but the (justifiably) much maligned PAC 3 or 4.

Let's be fair here - Oregon and LSU had two common opponents last year in Auburn and Tennessee. We smashed Tennessee. You needed a miracle to take care of them.

We lost to Auburn on a last-second field goal. You lost by a full TD.

Oregon fans aren't impressed by SEC defenses. A few of your teams every year produce really quality defenses. Most conferences get one or two, your conference gets 2 or 3, sometimes even four. That doesn't change the fact that the other 9 or 10 teams in the conference are completely average.

Nobody at Oregon expects us to put up our season average on you guys, because we know you're a solid defense. I, however, am less offended by chants that Oregon's offense will do nothing against LSU than I am by Tigers fans who seem to think Oregon's defense isn't proven. We held Auburn to 22 points. ONLY ONE TEAM in the SEC held Auburn to that many points. Tennessee moved the ball on us for the first quarter and a half and then produced nothing the rest of the game.

Is the ducks defense sometimes inconsistent? Yes, but they are very good at making adjustments. See Andrew Luck being shut out in the 2nd half at Autzen. Cliff Harris pulled TWO interceptions on a heisman trophy winner (yes, I'm counting the one that was ruled out of bounds.)

Duck fans respect the tigers, but it's pretty laughable when I see LSU fans not really at all concerned about this game.

Our little brother Oregon State marched down to Baton Rouge and gave your team a heart attack a few years back...
