this kinda brings to question of exactly how much saban did while he was here. there is no question in my mind that the two we have now are much better and i still think crowton is still holding back but is not being conservative. its hard to say what it was about saban because i don't think he was such a good motivational leader because his teams seemed to have let down games through his stay at lsu. with the talk about the possibility of miles leaving i would still feel great about this team if we could still keep crowton and pelini if he left but i'm not hoping for that to happen. we keep hearing about lsu winning with saban's players or talent, i can remember a lsu team coming off a good year after a big bowl win starting the year ranked in the top 10 with really good talent which we still see playing in the nfl with this so called creat defensive coordinator and we all remember what happened to that lsu team. its great to have a lot of talent but i think in this day and age the importance of coaching over just talent is becoming obvious by the amount coaches are starting to get paid. i think i would also pick pelini over saban being the defensive coordinator.
Muschamp should be replaced with Saban. I like Fisher's offense in easy win games and Crowton's in bigger games.
I agree. He's done a great job & is one of the best in the country. Preseason 2004, CFN called us the most talented team in the country. We've heard the same thing every year since then. Just because this team is performing better than the others doesn't mean we didn't have just as talented of teams in prior years.
You may be correct but I can't remember when we had potential All SEC talent sitting the bench awaiting their turn. Both Steltz and Taylor would have started on Saban's first and second year teams. The same is probably true for Eugene and McCray.
Without a doubt this is the most complete starting talent we have had. Other times we had talent they were either young or we had an inept QB. Now, most are returning starters with decent depth behind them. In other words, it is not raw talent, they are all proven.
I like Crowton too- he's more aggressive- the faked field goal, for example, TH hiding behind the line, etc. Florida State's offense is sputtering. I'm not familiar with their roster, do they have talent or is it maybe just a new system? I wish him the best and understand, career-wise, he did what he felt was necessary but he has to have regrets about not being able to be here with all the positive things our program is experiencing.
I'm a happy camper. I like our staff a lot. I was in the Fisher gets too conservative at times camp, sometimes wished we had a different OC. Anyone would have looked good with Russell, Bowe, Davis and Doucet. This is a great time to be a Tiger fan. ENJOY IT while we can.
