It's all about ratings for the the 3 networks ... CBS, ABC and NBC. College football games in primetime does not draw the ratings that their regular programming can draw. If it did, they would do it! Money, money, money, money...
What they should do.... with the OSU game is reschedule it for a noon kickoff. Then make every fool, from Tom Benson on down, who thinks the state should build the Saints a retractible roof stadium, attend the game and sit about 20 rows up. No a/c'd luxury box, right out in the mid-September, heat index of 103, open sun with us peasants. Maybe then they'll realize what a stupid idea it is.
Id take the mid-September heat in Baton Rouge over an A/C'd luxury box in New Orleans every day of the week.
Regardless of when it is played and who carries the game it should be interesting to see how the tigers (and the Beavs) come out after the hanging of the national championship banner. Should be awesome.
We really have no choice in the matter, especially when CBS and the worthless Jefferson Pilot pick up our games, we have to move them per the conference. For ESPN we will not move the game time but we really don't have to as they need good night games since sport is their programming. Also guys, NCS just re-upped with Notre Dame rcently, don't know if it has been signed yet but they agreed with Notre Dame on an extension.
