I agree with that. But actually, that ISN'T what the objection was...not how it was stated anyway. If I could multi quote, I'd show you what I'm talking about. So, to be clear... IF the players engaged in any criminal activity, yes...I agree they should be penalized for it. But the fact that they were out on a Thursday night...the last day of fall camp...preceding a day off...is not a problem, IMO.
This is what I was referring to. The answer is simple. They are college kids who just got finished with fall camp, and had a day off today, and it's Thursday night in Baton Rouge, LA. Simple. Now the fight is stupid, but the fact is nobody has the facts on that.
ok fish, back up and take note of the " :hihi: ". so my sense of humor about how bad the team was when we were in school was only funny to me. at least i was trying to convey it was humor. someone has a serious need for some football! again, notice the little smilie. "haha" another attempt at humor.
Biggest issue IMO is the fact that at 20 years old, JJ or any other underage player shouldn't be in a bar to get in a bar fight. After all he is supposedly our "leader". Whether he was apart of it or not, he made some very bad judgement calls. What worries me most is the "other" players involved... anyone know how many total were involved in this?
Well if he was out with a significant number of other players, he might have been "leading". Should the "leader" and the "other" players have been at choir practice instead of doing what a "normal" college student might be doing at that time?
A lot of the places in Tigerland let you in at 18 (19 to get into Fred's) so he's not too young to be in the bar.
To justify underage players in bars, getting in parking lot brawls of said bar, when the biggest game of the season is 2 weeks away... is just plain irresponsible... especially considering this kid has had 3 good showings in 20'something starts... seems to me he could find something more constructive to spend his time doing.
