reportedly, one of the players is owning up to fighting. if that is so, then he should be punished accordingly, and i believe will when charges are filed. for him, i dont think that fighting is in dispute, i think the severity of the fight, charges, and circumstances are still in question. (such as was there any self defense involved, who threw the first punch, etc.) there are also two others being named, and the question is, are they the right people, and if so, what was their role. all indications is that there were four actually fighting. what the other players were doing. were they trying to break it up? we dont know. with jj, he swears he did not fight. we have a witness (that appears to be connected to the victim) that says he did, and witness that says he did not. but the brpd at one point was begging for neutral third party witnesses. and there is where it gets sticky. it is not a matter of if the marine deserved a beat down or not (he did, but that has nothing to do with legalities, and it shouldnt have been a fb player unless in self defense), but who did it, and who threw the first punch? pending some sort of true video or physical evidence (not this she said/she said), do you discipline and suspend or dismiss a kid that might be innocent? what if you do and he turns out to be found innocent, you have helped ruin the future of the kid. on the other hand, what if you keep him then find out he has been lying? that isnt good for the programs rep. for me, the arguments of behavior, hitting a girl, stalking another, past record, etc etc are not because of whether he "deserved it", but to call into question his story, and wondering if it is made up in attempt to go forward with a civil suit or cover his own ass by implicating an innocent person.
Absolutely. I'm not at all saying the players were using sound judgment. Miles has every right to be pissed at these kids and punish them as he sees fit, but the legal system should stay out of it IMO. Sometimes, drunk ass holes get what's coming to them. He was looking for a fight and got one. The players should never have been there, and certainly should have showed more restraint, but I'm having a hard time believing that this guy is a "victim".

According to this video i noticed 3 new things. 1) the guy that gets kicked on the ground is Lowery - his name is said. So, i wanna know how the other dude ended up with broken vertebra. As a medic (EMT) I know that it takes some force for that to happen. 2) somebody (perhaps Lowery, not sure but it was somebody walking with him) made a threat about busting a cap in there a$$. 3) According to the report Lowery says he put the driver of the truck in it and he drove off while lowery got beat up, in the video the truck is still there while lowery is getting his whuppin.
