Wouldn't it be standard operating procedure if police wanted to talk to you about events involving others who had already "lawyered up"? I'm just sayin' I would.
Come in off the ledge jr. This will be handled by a couple lawyers in a judges office with the door closed and the bourbon open. Couple tickets here, a parking pass there. Business as usual by Friday.
Am I missing something here? Nowhere in that piece did it say that they got individual attorneys, just recycling old news.
I dont necessarily agree. In todays legal environment I WOULD NEVER, just waltz into a police station to chat about ANYTHING they want to "clear up". Even if TOTALLY innocent, I would let those that get "paid" to talk with LE officials do their job.
If you took a poll. I would beat at least 60% would agree that if Jefferson is not on the field does not mean the season is a complete loss. Yes as PLAYERS Johns and Davenport are disposable, as person if they were involved then they made a terrible choice and should have to face up to it the same as you or I would and being a member of the football team should have nothing to do with it.
Agreed.. Add to that the players have been reading the same reports we've been reading about charges being pressed, add to that upwards of two dozen football players were there and not a single one of them have been interviewed about what they saw. I'm actually surprised it took that long to get a lawyer involved.
Dang - They checked in at 10:30 at curfew then as many as 50 players went out to celebrate !!!! SEC blog ESPN.com's Chris Low and Edward Aschoff write about all things SEC football in the conference blog. • Blog network: College Football Nation Sgt. Donald Stone confirmed in an email that attorney Nathan Fisher arranged the postponement. Stone did not say if a new date has been scheduled. "We just got the case at 8 a.m. today," Fisher told The Times Picayune of New Orleans on Sunday. "I just met with the kids this morning." An earlier news release said the fight started when a driver honked his horn at a crowd blocking his way out of the parking lot outside Shady's Bar, and the driver was one of four people injured. Police have said that LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson, offensive lineman Chris Davenport, defensive lineman Josh Johns and receiver Jarvis Landry were asked to come to police headquarters to tell their side of the story. "They weren't asked to turn themselves in. They were asked to come in so they can be interviewed and tell their side of the story," Stone said in a telephone interview. The investigation will continue after that, and police may interview other players, he said. Stone said police interviewed four people who were treated and released -- three for minor injuries and a fourth for a more serious injury that could bring a felony charge of second-degree battery. Some witnesses also have talked to police, he said. On Saturday, coach Les Miles apologized for the fight, saying a "relatively large group" was involved, and that the entire team had checked in at Thursday's 10:30 p.m. curfew. He said he won't punish specific players until details are collected and revealed. "We've started disciplining our team because this was a team violation," Miles said. "This was not just a guy. This was the team. " As many as 50 LSU players went out to celebrate the end of two-a-days Thursday night, The Times Picayune reported, citing a source close to the team.
