Red I've been in and out of this thread. Alot to read. Bottom line- regardless of talent or importance to the team, if they are charged does Les do what's best long term and dismiss them?(if it is warranted of course) Or does he suspend for a few games. Just curious what you or anyone else here thinks when it comes right down to it. I know they are kids but there must be some significant punishment if they are guilty. Guilty of what is what no one seems to really know. I have read so much inaccurate BS that I don't know what to think. Is there any journalistic integrity anywhere? It seems like they couldn't even get the names right. Even once it was determined it was johns and not Downs, I still read Downs name numerous times. Don't we have to move on with Lee and Mett immediately? Two weeks to go
I think we should prepare Mett & Lee as if JJ hurt himself and is listed as day to day........Those two have to be ready and CLM has to be ready to pull the trigger on either one, it’s the only logical thing to do at this juncture. My biggest concerns are the distractions CLM needs to analyze the distractions and do whatever necessary to eliminate them as we as a Team prepare for Oregon
For the record I don't think these guys are evil and I'm not hoping for a dismissal. I'm sure there is more to this. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt. But regardless of whether they were provoked or not, if they hurt someone shouldn't they go? I would rather roll with the guys we have than be the Auburn of this year. I know there are differences. Just wondering.
Honestly, regardless of who we suspend and who we put on the field, the speculation behind this and the fact that it was 20 players or more involved will give us the bad name. But just as I felt about Cam last year, Cam still beat us and Oregon, and many others, Reggie Bush still beat OU, and if we roll with JJ and he wins out he still beat his competition, it’s a football game, not a popularity contest, and you cant take away the fact that our athletes out played your athletes.......but I do see your concerns
I think anyone that gets charged will be suspended until the charges are resolved, but perhaps dismissed right away, it depends on how Les reads the situation. We don't need this hanging over our heads all season. Les' first responsibility is to the team and the University. i can't see Les playing anyone who may be convicted as a criminal for battery. Not on the internet. Yes.
:thumb::thumb: :thumb::thumb: And for my contribution. . . After the fight, JJ was seen laughing and joking with teammates. (This one's going way back to post-UW 2009)
