lol. Actually i have been a lurker since 2003. Just trying to get my feet wet a lil bit. As for my post, i thought turk was getting his numbers mixed up. I wasn't trying to pump up Lee. Both Lee and Jefferson scare the hell out of me when they drop back. I was hoping mettenburger would come in and light it up but that is hard to do in the SEC. As for Jefferson, i don't blame him for being at a bar on a thursday night. He is 20 years old and in college after all. I just have to question why would he want to put himself in that environment a mere two weeks away from the season opener. Just a bad predicament to put yourself in.

If you have no responsibilities, sure. But the starting quarterback has 100 teammates counting on him. If he gets suspended in August camp, he has let everybody down. The bars will always be there, your football career comes around once.

But rumors often have no legs, Jefferson has gotten into zero trouble in three years at LSU. It may turn out to be nothing.

They are young college students and there is no scheduled practice today.

The only thing I would be mildly critical of is the incident happening at 2AM.

I'll let Les and the civil, and LSU authorities take care of anything that needs to be taken care of. Right now there's more rumor and innuendo flying around than facts.

Jordan Jefferson Involved in Bar Fight
    From ShreveportTimes.com

BATON ROUGE - LSU starting quarterback Jordan Jefferson has been identified by multiple witnesses for being involved in a fight outside the Shady's bar near the LSU campus between 1:30 and 2 a.m. Friday, Baton Rouge Police Department spokesman Don Stone said shortly before noon Friday.

"There was a fight just outside the bar, and four people went to the hospital," Stone said. "Jordan Jefferson has been implicated as being involved as well as other football players, who have not been specifically identified yet. We're not calling Jefferson a suspect. We're not calling him a victim. We don't know how much he was involved, but we're getting a lot of information leading us in that direction."

LSU football coach Les Miles was not immediately available for comment. The football team has a rare day off today after the final scrimmage of the preseason on Thursday. Jefferson, a senior from Destrehan, is expected to be LSU's starting quarterback for the third straight season beginning with the opener on Sept. 3 against Oregon in Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Jefferson, 20, has had not previous run-ins with the law during his LSU career.

"We're in the middle of the investigation right now," Stone said.

Asked if Jefferson or other LSU football players may be arrested, Stone said, "It may come to that, but that's very premature right now."

Jefferson as of Friday at noon had not yet been interviewed by police.

"We're in the process of trying to interview him today," Stone said. "We'll know more this afternoon, tonight or tomorrow."
