When I asked why everyone had an issue with this, the "this" I was referring to was his being in a bar, not the actual fight itself. I have a HUGE problem with the fight. I don't think college athletes should have to sit at home and twiddle their thumbs during their seasons. But they have a huge responsibility to act responsibly when they *do* go out, and that's where JJ may have failed. That's all I was tryin' to say.
I'm not advocating not letting the facts come out in regards to JJ. I sincerely thought that was obvious.
This. Nobody is downplaying the fight. In fact, nobody even knows what happened, and if JJ was even involved for sure. But to think the players should just all stay inside under lock and key is silly. Players all over the country were out last night partying. No practice today, and 2 weeks til gametime. This was their last chance to go out.
WBRZ just reported that JJ is not a suspect in the bar fight and multiple players were implicated by witnesses.
update. LSU football players implicated in bar fight - WAFB Channel 9, Baton Rouge, LA | "No immediate arrests are expected" according to police
Being out two weeks before agame is not a big deal IMO. It wasn't so long ago that it was regular for our baseball team to be out drinking on Friday night on an SEC series weekend. That kind of thing is a problem.
The WAFB one is above. Can't find one from WBRZ yet. I saw it on a retweet. I am sure the update will be up soon.
When I posted this, I copied 'no immediate arrests are expected' from the article, but it looks like they removed that line from the article.
