One aspect I do not believe I read being covered on this subject is the fact that LSU's AD is the very same former Duke AD that acted too hastily and suspended the entire LaCrosse season before the facts were known. I would assume he would not make hasty decisions like that and learned from his mistake. I do not know what the heck happened. It seems only those who were there and directly involved know the truth. If the AD and Coach know specific players were involved then they need to do the right thing. If they do not, then they certainly should not deprive the team and any individual the right to play in this game. Breaking curfew is a slap on the wrist. Who cares. I do find it funny that Miles made them run more. That is not punishment, that is preparation!
All I know is this: if I'm a suspect in an assault case, and the cops want to speak to me...I ain't sayin sh*t without a lawyer. I made that mistake and the aholes tried to charge me with a felony, which my lawyer got thrown out once they had me diagnosed with PTSD. Smart move on the players' part to be represented. Interrogation techniques are used in different ways when suspects have counsel and when they don't.
