look...you want another good recruiter like dale brown who can't coach then keep him (and yeah i'll take anyone on who thinks dale was a good coach...he got talent and rode it)......do the homework like you did with saban and get someone to coach (yes coach) the team....if that is what you really want.....it will cost money.....lsu is a football school....do you want b-ball as well....then cough up the dough because that is what it is going to take...enough.....i'm going to bed.....snorton.

Dale Brown not a good coach

    - 24 years at LSU
-1981 National Coach of The Year
-1981 Sporting News Coach of The Year
-1988 Playboy Magizine Coach of The Year
    - 7 Time SEC Coach of The Year
    - 5 Time District Coach of The Year
    - Led LSU To 13 NCAA Tournaments
    - Appeared in 10 Straight NCAA Tournaments
    - Appeared in15 Straight National Tournaments
    - Appeared in 2 Final Fours
    - Record Crowd - 54,321 on 1/28/89 in SuperDome
    Beating Georgetown 82-80
    - Made the 1986 NCAA Tournament with most of the team out with chickenpox had football players fill in
    - 81% of his players Graduated with Degrees
    - He Kept LSU on the map after Pistol Pete

He did have great players but it takes a great coach to accomplish all of this.
I might be bias to him because he is a close friend of mine for as long as I can remember. But those are the FACTS right there. If that does not make him a GREAT Coach I don't know what does

I'm for giving Brady one more year. Although, I'm not overly impressed with what has transpired I'll give him one more year. My major beef is player development. Case in point, Frosh should not be playing like frosh by the end of the season.........all of ours were......none of them improved from beginning to end.

But for sake of throwing out a name. I would like to have Mark Few from Gonzaga. What he has done at that school is impressive. Although, I have heard in the past that schools have tried to lure him away but couldn't do it. So could be a waste of time.

I agree with the 2 posts above........
but I'm just curious, has Brady been able to develop anyone since he's been at LSU?
    No matter what class?

I think some players developed while at LSU b/c of Brady. Such as T. Bright and C. Temple.

Another thing that I think has been missing of late is defensive play. I can remember a few years back when the teams played oustanding defense game in and game out. The past couple years it has been more sporadic. Quality of players or coaching? You got me.

nice try and i'm glad he's your friend.....problem dale had was he was a great recruiter but could not call plays.....you get him in a half court game (aka bobby knight in 1981 and 1987) and you could checkmate him all nite long and that's a fact.....with the talent he had there is no excuse for championship banners not just flocking around that arena.....sorry, i'm just not sold....

Torris Bright digressed under Brady. His only great year was his freshman year.

Everything you've listed adds up to a GOOD coach. I'm not sold on the notion that it makes him a "GREAT" coach.
