Was anyone at the game when they were filming Everybody's All American. I remember that they had people in one section of the stands dressed in 50's style clothing and they were running plays on the field during halftime. I think I was 8 or 9.

That's pretty cool. I couldn't help but notice how much larger our stadium is than Utah and New Mexico. I guess that really doesn't matter.

I was there. I think that game was in 77. I had moved to Louisiana the year before and remember hearing on the radio they were asking LSU fans to dress in 50's attire. Saw a lot of guys in white shirts and girls in poodle skirts. At halftime the film crews shot the game footage for the movie. The PA announcer ask the LSU fans to cheer for LSU and the Bama fans to cheer for the other team.
I have that movie in my collection and tell everyone I am in the movie ;)

I was there in 1987 and dressed in 1950s attire - with a trenchcoat. I was a student and our fraternity had seats on the 10 (thanks pledge class of of 1987). Those were some awesome days. Great season, too! Mike Archer's first.

The article says that the movie is based on a true story about a football coach rebuilding a program after his team was lost in a plane crash. That happened to Marshall in the 70's I think.

November 14, 1970 was the date of the Marshall University plane crash. 75 people died in that tragic accident.

Wow, Richard Gere and one for the ages

Will the team mascot be the "Biting Gerbils" of A&M? :hihi:
