Exactly... All last year the students were doing the same thing saying they were so big and bad that they could do it with or without the band. Who won this "battle?" The administration. Expect us to continue the TD dance.
It is an effective way to stop the problem for the meantime. But like the last time the students will find a way to get another song removed. It is not an effective way to stop this problem long term. And in the meantime the other 80,000 people in the stadium are punished also.
At OM, they are really cracking down on the student drinking..first time a warning or something...second time is more serious.....I don't have the program in front of me, but it "can" mean expelled. LSU students please believe me when I say you are not the power there yet. For everyone of you that are paying, there are others waiting and willing to take your place. The powers that be can check the student gate very closely. A "problem" student can lose his student rights to sit in the student section. They can check you for "public or underage" drinking. If you appear to be drinking, they can take you out to be checked. You can miss a hell of a lot of the game if they have a long line to be checked. Public profanity is against the law, although seldom enforced, but it can be. How embarrassing would it be if they haul your butt off and you have to leave your date to find her own way home. You just don't have the power to win on this. The admin CAN sell those student tickets for a year if they want. Then you pay full price for a ticket and you can bet they won't be all together. Other schools often complain about the "bags of urine" and other such bs. Why give them more ammo to be used to "flame" such a class school as LSU? Be PROUD but be class..........SHOW YOUR CLASS NOT YOUR ASS----LSU is much too good for this type of stuff and it will probably be controlled. HOW? Probably up to the student body....
yeah that might be the next step done by the Administration. They can start cracking down on public intoxication and underage drinking.
