Lee was considered a top QB by many and he was a star at all the camps he attended. I think he was rated low in the recruit rankings because he suffered from committing early and therefore didnt hold out for offers which would have bumped him up in the rankings. We will get 2 QBs but they dont have to be at the top of the list of the recruit rankings IMO. I would rather go for good character guys first and someone who could fit the LSU offense. A top 8-10 QB in the nation would be great and one of the top 3 from the state would be just fine for LSU.

As I recall, Lee was the #7 rated QB in the signing class. The guy is very accurate, but also played in a system like Evangel, where he was setup to succeed. I think he could develop into a very capable QB, and eventual starter. He will gladly accept his RS this year, and still have lots of time to mature.

I do agree that this coming year would be the year to go after the next blue chip QB. We surely need to sign a 4-star or better to make sure we have enough depth. Having Lee on the roster will not deter us from signing a blue chipper. How much PT RP sees this year could have the greater impact.

we need 2 qbs next signing period, and I believe we'll sign a proto passer and a dual threat guy

I would be, too. But I'm reading that he is leaning toward FSU.

I work in Mobile and know very little about McCarron. I hear that he is a "package deal" with Destin Hood WR. He caught 22 catches w/ 12 TD (avg 29 yds per catch). McCarron's stats aren't very impressive, IMO. He threw for under 2,000 yards and 25 TD's. Bama can have him.

St Pauls is an option offense Cajun. I would say McCarron's numbers are pretty damn incredible considering that kind of offense and the fact he was only a sophmore

His family is all gumpage though.

Really? It's a little early to dismiss him isn't it? He only just completed his sophomore year! He's already holding offers from bama, the Seminoles, and LSU with nd and USC knocking on the door. At 6-3.5 and 165, he's got a few years to add to that frame.

You're right on the WR, they want to play college ball together.

Like I said, I don't know much about him and I darn sure don't know what kind of offense his high school runs, so maybe I shouldn't have offered my opinion about not being impressed. I guess I'm just spoiled b/c we have a QB on our roster that had 5,000 yards of total offense and 69 total touchdowns as a senior!:thumb:
