I would hate that because I am firmly against a team playing for the national title and not winning their conference. It would be a cheap way to get there, not to mention the uproar it would cause, a la Oklahoma in '03.
No way LSU finishes that high unless all the one-loss teams lose, and that may not get it done. LSU's computer ranking will prevent that from happening. Notice we only moved up one spot in the BCS. Computer is killing us.
I havne't heard any thing like that. Everyone's talking about an OSU-Michigan rematch in the Fiesta Bowl so I guess it is possible to not win your conference (or even division) and play in the NC game.
Bingo, bango, boingo. Now we're getting somewhere. Thanks for that post. I hope everyone is ready to come along on this wild journey with me. Bring lots of popcorn.
No, the BCS committee just tweaked it to where they thought that it would make it much more impossible to do so. They need to fire their tweakers.
Whoah, don't you think that if all of the one loss teams lose, LSU would jump them all? We were speculating on what ifs. Under the scenario described, the only one loss teams LSU would have to jump would be West VA, Wisconsin and Louisville. But, I suppose you're right; that wouldn't happen.
You gotta admit, if OSU thumps Michigan and Cal beats USC, there will just a tad bit of excitement in Baton Rouge....don't you think?
