It's per capita though. So not surprising at all.

LSU's gold coast has always been the I-10 corridor: Texas, Louisiana (naturally), Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. The map is interesting, but nothing new.

This is terrific. It goes to prove what I have always said: if you can recruit in the SEC, you do not have to recruit nationally.

The really interesting thing about this map is that it shows where our out-of-state recruiting has been most successful. We have been the most successful in Texas so far, and have not down well in Florida. We definately need to work Florida more effectively as the year progresses. Texas and Florida are two of the most prolific states in the country, and we need to work them hard.

i think per capita is what proves his point. population ratio is what per capita is.

I don't believe the press is in love with the other conferences. think most of them believe the SEC is the toughest conference at the top and that is why two things happen in most early season polls:

    1. No SEC team is usually given much of a chance to go unbeaten due to the talent at the top/middle and therefore is not ranked number one.

    2. They usually rank about 5 SEC teams in the top 25 every year, sometimes more but hardly ever less.
