I'm a huge Williams fan too and have been saying since last fall he'd be sic. I was glad to hear cig's reports about Murphy being up there with him but with our stable of backs, Williams' numbers may not be a true picture of his abilities next year (Stats don't always anyway). Not to mention he won't play 4 quarters in every game- I'm sure they'll sit him not to risk injury in our blowouts.
Go look at video footage of Murphy. He is the real deal. Miles was not pleased with how our RB situation was handled. (He didn't have full control over that issue. NCAA has to step up sometimes) If I was a DC I would HATE playing us. I would not know where to begin.
I believe Jones could play for LSU im not sure about start and their is no way he would walk away with job. For you to say it wouldnt even be close is a little bold and in no way true
I know Felix Jones is good, but I don't think he would be as good being "the man". When they run wildcat, they have 10 guys looking at McFadden, and 1 looking at Felix. And when he gets in to spell McFadden, the defense almost has a little sigh of relief, and before you know it, he has 7-8 yards on that play.
Uh, actually I know quite a bit about our current, former, and future players. National headlines do not make the back, statistics do and KW, Murphy and Scott have not done this yet. Would you like an example of great talent that became an average back? How about recent history with Justin Vincent, or Alley Broussard? McFadden has put up gaudy numbers in the toughest defensive league in the country and done it in spite of everyone knowing that Ark could only run. How many yards did he and Felix Jones have against LSU?? Did you go to that game, much less watch it? McFadden's talent is undeniable, and will be so again this year.
How about that kick return against us last season? He broke like 4 tackles, and the guy has a great speed too. Felix Jones is one of the most underrated players in the nation. I believe he's the second best RB in the SEC after McFadden.
I did say he was good. I just dont think he would put up McFadden stats if he were given McFadden's number of touches.
Reminds me of another very underrated player last season....I cant believe Russell wasnt considered a first round talent early in the season.:dis:
