If you people want the game won by LSU I'd think you'd want Saban to be there regardless. LSu is bigger than Nick Saban, but the team needs a coach, one they are used to. Any one here play football EVER??? :dis:

I NEVER said he shouldn't coach the team, just said I was worried because
he was going to Miami on Monday.
Wasn't sure if he could do both at once, we all know what would happen if LSU loses the game on Saturday if Nick had his attention on both teams.
It wouldn't be fair to LSU, fans or players in that scenario. :thumb:

I shouldn't have included your quote. I agree with you on that.

Nick Saban has every right to be on the field with his players for their last game together. He started this and is going out in style coaching a team full of players he cares about, I think it is the right thing to do and I will be happy to see him on the sideline one last time.
His taking the job with Miami is about the same as a Junior leaving his team before his senior year, its what he thinks is best for him and his family and I for one will wish him the best of luck. Coach Saban will leave LSU in very good shape and has built a strong foundation for our future
head coach..........thank him for what he has done while at LSU and celibrate his last game with our team.

It sends a bad messege to the players to let him coach. The players need to be shown that only people who put the university first will see the field

How is this sending a bad message to the players that Saban recruited, to let him coach their last game? I love the school just as much as the next guy but dayum dude. Kinda rough not to let the man that got us and the team here not to coach the game. I think the University would be making a HUGE mistake by getting petty like MSU did and say, "Thanks but no thanks coach."

Why is it always an "all or nothing" proposition?

Saban has been very tactful considering the decision he has had to make. I believe that Saban will always be a Tiger at heart, but we knew that he was looking to the NFL for 3 years. Let him send us off winners.

I think if he would be going to another school I'd say see ya. The NFL is different in my view. I think if you asked the players what they wanted, Saban would get the vote. LSU will be fine in large part because of Coach Saban. Let the search continue because a new era will soon be here!

Good point........ going to the NFL is not like leaving for another college job.

And I think Nick should coach this last game as long as the players want him to. Am I bitter toward Nick for leaving.... a little. Do I appreciate what he has done for LSU football.... yes. I think Nick made the right decision for Nick, not for LSU. I understand and respect his decision, but there is a little place in my heart that hopes he falls flat on his face at Miami, just so that he regrets leaving the best coaching job in NCAA Football.

Remember, ladies and gents, at this level of competition, its all about the EGO, only instead of saying "I'm leaving LSU to prop up my ego" hes says "I'm leaving LSU because I want the challenge". But Ego is what drives great coaches like Nick. Its what will drive the next great coach at LSU.

THANKS Nick for all you have done and brought to LSU, but don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out!! :helmet:

The point you are all missing is that if he REALLY wanted to coach this last game why not wait until after to make the decision to leave. Behind closed doors he could have told the Dolphins, look I will take the job but want to finish what I started here, I will make the announcement back in Baton Rouge after the bowl game. They could have interviewed a few more lame ducks to give him time. I think the LSU fans and Dolphins fans alike would have respected that alot more then the way he just kind of slid out the backdoor.

If he's head was on straight and not influcned by all that money and power he would have seen this as the smarter play.

And this is the reason I don't want him to coach........

IF his heart was not in it enough to give the team and fans of LSU the proper timing for his departure then do you really expect his heart to by in this one game for a team that he will not be back at.

I feel it sendsa bad message to the players, I am not mad that he is leaving hell I would leave to for that much money and power, but the timing and the way he chose to exit will sting for a long time to come.
