You usually give a 2 week notice when you resign a job. Now while this is not the same thing, it applies to a degree.

While I'm disappointed w/Saban, I see no reason why he shouldn't coach in the Capital One bowl. I've got tickets - I can say I saw Nick's last game as coach.

Yes, that would have been a great idea, when 95% of the world was already bitching their arses off because of how long he was taking to make his decision. And the coaching search would have been delayed even longer, people would have loved that too. :dis:

Saban did it the best way he possibly could considering the time constraints, the players and coaches traveling, the wishes of LSU and Miami, etc.

Who gives a damn about how long it would have taken it would have been the right the thing to do. If thats all you can pull from what I said then i guess I am wasting the computer trees that were cut down to make the computer paper that this was written on. Some people do understand and appreicate when the RIGHT thing is done. No matter how long they have to wait for it.

I can't believe there is even a thread questioning this. Nick Saban has every right to coach this game, LSU would be nuts to want someone else to coach it, and the players deserve to be put in the best position to win it. The coaching staff and players are the ones who put in the effort to go 9-2 and EARN the invitation to this bowl. To have them come this far and then say that Saban should not be allowed to coach is just wrong. The bowl is a reward for the effort put in this season, just as my paycheck is a reward for the previous 2 weeks of work I have performed. Just see how you feel if you change jobs and your boss keeps your last check and says that since you are leaving you don't deserve to have it.

So you wanted Nick to lie to his players and say he was staying and then after the bowl come home and tell them he was leaving? I don't understand this logic. It was hard on all of us but Nick made a choice that was best for him. Their would never have been a right time for Nick to leave us as long as he was winning.

Saban should definately coach this game.

I got the impression that Saban didn't really like to deal with as much immaturity as you find at the college level.

And dealing with those same aspects within the recruiting process were probably just as frustrating for him.

But overall, Saban produced for LSU, and thusly, earned the right to go out with the final game of the season.

LSU fans should continue to treat him with honor and respect and consider his tenure as a bright spot within the historical annals of LSU football.

I have not doubt that Got It?'s first concern on Jan 01 will be :lsug:, then on Jan 02 it will be Miami. Got It? is a class guy.

Had Got It? left for another college team or maybe even another SEC team then I could see not letting him coach the bowl game.
