I never said he is too small to be a feature back.. I said that the TEXANS think he is too small to be a feature back, and that he will end up like Kevin Faulk. If you have followed kevin faulk, you will see that he did pretty good as a starter for the Patriots, but the no matter how well he did, the Patriots constantly tried to replace him. The Texans will do the same thing. They will draft runningback after runningback looking for that prototypical guy.. eventually they will find him.

I wonder if many are missing a point here. To build a competitive football team dont you almost have to build a solid defense 1st, then concentrate on an offense. I think this day and time most are into drafting the high profile offensive players they think can win immediately with. How many barry sanders', billy sims' have to be wasted on mediocre teams with terrible defenses before short sighted owners and fans realize it takes a few years to build a winner? Defense wins championships, you must have patience

yeah, actually you did say that...

Just so you know, here are a few height/weight comparisons to Davis from around the league...

    Priest Homes - HT: 5-9, WT: 205
    Marshall Faulk - HT: 5-10, WT: 211
    LaDainian Tomlinson - HT: 5-10, WT: 220

    Domanick Davis - HT: 5-9, WT: 216

So he's closer to the NFL norm than you think.

I'm not sure what Houston's reasoning was for drafting another running back this year, nor do I know why they still have some interest in Travis Henry. Most people that have watched them know that the offensive line needs way more help than the RB position. Having said that, the problem is that Davis has shown a propensity to get dinged up over his football career. That can't necessarily be said for the guys that I listed above early on in their careers. You also have to keep in mind that there are some teams that go after depth at running back, regardless of who they have. Take the Cowboys this year, the Denver Broncos every year, and Vikings every year. It's the NFL and players get hurt - and RBs are especially open to injuries because they are getting hit over and over whether they run the ball, catch passes, or pick up blitzes. Faulk, while getting some spot starts, has always been more of a 3rd down back. He's played with Antowain Smith and Corey Dillon to name a couple of guys who have been everydown backs. He and Davis are being asked to do two different things. And Faulk is quite a bit smaller than Davis....

    Kevin Faulk - HT: 5-8, WT: 200

    Articles please.

    Links please.

    Quoted material please.

Otherwise smarty it is just YOUR opinion that he is too small. Oh I mean your opinion that THEY think he is too small.

Maybe you can give us some of those articles or links though... Otherwise yes, YOU see him like that and YOU definitely said that.

Never seen someone paint themself into a corner so often then not admit it.

Then why did they go out and draft a guy who is two inches taller and 6 pounds lighter but basically built in the same mold as Davis

    Vernand Morency - HT: 5-11, WT: 210

I guess that two inches makes him a featured back.
