Also would they stop saying the Big East can compete with the SEC. Louisville let MTSU score 42 on them we shut them out and as a result they also got beat by Kentucky yesterday.
Don't let them dumba$$es get to you, they are clueless. 4 out of the next 6 games for LSU is against ranked teams, one being top 5. No other team can claim that. It would be 5 if AU didn't totally suck. And the UK game on the road is HUGE now.
and it seems none of them noticed that we went through the whole game without flynn and doucet. would usc, fla, or ou have won by the margins they did without their starting qb at all? obviously i don't know that answer, and it didn't happen so that is (gasp) speculation. but is is food for though.
Why and how can they have a ranking on any team after 2 or 3 games is flat out NUTS. To me, it should be done after 5 games and no less. That's how it was done in the past. This ranking crap before anyone plays a game is down right stupid. They keep on having all these so called "upsets", because no person alive besides God can tell you who will be ready to play before the season. I have a friend who tells me he is looking for National Championsip tickets. What the heck has happened to our fans. If we go straight to the National Championship after 3 games, then I don't want to be a fan anymore! This talk of ranking needs to stop! We have a hard schedule ahead of us. I will be happy if LSU goes to the SEC Championship. One game at a time is my philosophy.
We go through this every year! They aren't gonna give LSU any credit until they have to! We make them respect us at the end of the season! Then they start to crawfish....same scenerio every year.
People, IT DOES NOT MATTER. The first BCS standings of the 2007 will be released October 14......that's what matters. Besides, do you really think beating Middle Tennessee....@ home, equates to beating Nebraska, on the road. C' mon. LSU is in great shape, all we have to do is win and the rest will take care of itself. Relax and enjoy, if we handle our business, we'll have our shot to prove who's number one.
Oh, so now all of a sudden we can only compare games on the same week. I think this win was more impressive than USC vs. Ohio. And the VT win was more impressive than USC vs. Nebraska. Then we beat a conference opponent on the road by 45. If you are comparing games to this point LSU should be #1. But that's not what happens. We all know it. And you are right, it doesn't matter.
ABC has always favored, 1st Notre Dame, then the BIG Ten (paricually Michigan and Ohio State). ESPN has been spellbound by USC and Oklahoma for a while now. It only follows that ABC/ESPN is going to glorify those teams that fit nicely into that mix. Thus..USC and Oklahoma, since their beloved BIG TEN is sputtering right now. As LSU eliminates each of their conference strong boys, the media is going to tag each those losing teams as over rated. As USC and Oklahoma go through their schedule and defeat their biggest rivals, those teams will will be called great challanges. Why do we let that bother us? Those of us who wish the computer rankings and strength of schedule were not part of the BCS rankings need to rethink the situation. The computer rankings is all we have left now to curtail the "Good Old Boy" network popularity contest set up by the sports writers. It was the computer rankings and the strength of schedule ratings that got LSU into the #2 position over USC back in 2003. This might not be good news to us if the SEC keeps getting beat by weak teams. As long as they beat themselves up, they are safe. When Auburn lost to Southern Florida, that hurts us all. Early season rankings are like Pro Football exposition games. They mean very little. When big teams beat little teams, they lookl impressive. Now, let those little teams continue the season. Let them become very strong in their own right, it sort of washes out the early season sports commentary plugs for their favorites and and jibes against those not in the sunlight of the Mass Media. This is where the SOS and computer rankings fine tune the BSC. This is why the AP Poll will never carry the weight or validity of the BCS. The AP champion is a loving cup winner. The BSC champion is always the consensus winner, regardless of the ABC/ESPN outlook. So just let the weeks pass. If the Tiger can keep it up, the end result will show up the writers, whether they admit it in print or not.
