I thought I would start a thread on the Tiger Tour that is currently in progress. A lot of good information from Miles and other coaches come out about what to expect from their teams.

From Monroe:

“I think this upcoming freshman class — I think (Destrehan product) Jordan Jefferson at quarterback is certainly going to be a guy that will get some early looks,” Miles said. “I think (Florida native and USA Today defensive player of the year) Patrick Johnson at corner and (Franklinton High School product) Brandon Taylor at corner, and for that matter (Catholic New Iberia product) Ryan St. Julian at corner. I think some of those guys will get some early looks.”

“(Rayville wide receiver Chris) Tolliver is running a 10.47 (100 meters) most recently — very fast and a big playmaker, a quality guy,” Miles said.

“(Sterlington tight end Matt) Branch would fit in very specific spots for us. Matt’s a big, strong guy and could be a powerful corner guy. (Ouachita tight end) Tyler (Edwards) moves well and catches the football. I think both those guys will have spots. We graduated two tight ends last fall. It will be a battle for a position.”

Also, Miles said Clemmons was a case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time and should be back on the team after learning a valuable lesson.

Crowton and Miles on the QB situation again and other tidbits.

“Hatch is big and can run,” Crowton said. “He’s got some escapability and a good arm.
“Jarrett (6-2, 190) is an outstanding passer. He has the ability to put touch on the ball and keep the guys running.”

“Jordan Jefferson is a very talented young man,” Crowton said. “He’ll have a lot of opportunities because he’ll come right in as the third (quarterback).”
