I'm still not too worried. We need to protect our home and pull off a couple of road wins. They are hard to come by in the SEC no matter who you are playing.

Its early guys and this is a road game. Dont ever underestimate the effect of the road on NCAA basketball. You see it year in and year out.

This team has the ability, they just need to come together. In B'Ball you always have time for that. No need to panic.

This team will go down as one of the most disappointing teams in BBall history. No fight, no coaching, no clue, no shooting what so ever!!!!!
This team (if you can call it that) is going to get drilled repeatedly all year long!! Oh well there's always Base a ball.

You might be right. Other than Davis this team has nobody that can create their own shot, their transition defense is bad and their interior defense is worse.

The team needs a coach to point them in the right direction. We don't look like we run a offense. It seems like our goal is to shoot 3 pointers each time down the court. We have good players, they just need to be coached.

This is typical of a coach Brady team. They can't follow-up a successful year with another successful year. I know we are currently ranked 16, but that won't last much longer. For a coach who has only had 3 seasons out of 9 with a SEC record over .500, I expect more from a coach. We need a coach who can continue to be successful at LSU every year and not have a cinderella year every 4 years.

Ok, as the usual LSU hoops homer, before I rant about the team, here's the positive. Road game. Vandy beats UK, Ole Miss almost beats Florida (at UF), and technically, the Tigers still lead the SEC West (along with 'Bama (who barely beats GA today) and MSU at 2-2). This is the same Hogs team that creamed 'Bama by over 20 at home. Long season ahead of us.

But, that's essentially where the positives end. This was an ugly game, and after watching it, I really do feel I have no clue what this team is about. They win close games at home with defense and rebounding. They get killed on the road, when teams match their intensity. They got thoroughly beat in every aspect of the game, including rebounds and defense, which is the Tigers game. It's not going to be hard to keep games close with the Tigers--mix up the zone defense and make the Tigers one dimensional by having to hit outside shots. And, if Mitchell and Martin aren't hitting 3s (you can't count on Temple or Minor to do so), the Tigers lose. I wish it weren't the case this season, but it does seem like unless Brady and staff get innovative or solve the Tigers' shooting touch, that's as simple as it is.

Now, I guess I could say that if a "win is a win" a "loss is loss" and it doesn't matter if you lose by 2 or 20, but I have to say that this 20 point loss bugs me. It shows that this Tiger team, unlike last year, is lacking toughness and a "Tiger" identity. They get blown out by Washington, Arkansas, and really 'Bama had them handled on the road---not even close--no upset of West Virginia or one-point loss to UConn. This is a game where they couldn't keep track of Hill cutting to the basket, they lost wide open 3 point shooters, and they got beat on the boards.

Now, perhaps this is just an inconsistent team amidst an inconsistent SEC West. I still have faith that this team can finish near the top of the SEC West and get into the tourney, which is all that matters. But, something needs to happen along the way, and I'm waiting for something positive to happen... Martin become more than just a streaky 3 point shooter, play more defense and find other ways to score. Temple to find some sort of offensive rhythm and bettter command of the offensive flow (he shot 4-8, but I thought he did not push the ball up to take advantage of certain situations). Tas' and Glen find some way to BOTH be consistently hot. And, for us to get any kind of flow out of Lazare and Rolle, who looked lost on d today. And, for Brady, time to think out of the box--he's got to take some of the blame.

And, to make matters worse, I watch the Texas Villanova game before and see both DJ Augustin and Scottie Reynolds score over 25 points and hand out 6 or so assists. Oh, the pain.... :bncry:

Ok, I feel better... Willie Warren... do you want to play right away? :)

:geauxtige :bball: :champs: KEEP THE FAITH. LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL.

I'm losing interest. What bugs me more than anything is our lack of intensity while the opponent always seems to be hustling. I haven't seen anything yet to make me optimistic about post season success, assuming we get there.

There was some hustle toward the end but I didn't like taking 3's every time down the floor. We were within 12 at 9 minutes. Just keep working the inside and we could have gotten it closer. That back door cuts Arky was taking needs to end. Way too many easy baskets there.
