Hopefully Martin can be that guy when he becomes eligible. Another area that needs a lot of work is the interior defense, it was awful today.
Re: Tigers love the SHOCKER If you wanna be honest thats what literally lost us the game tonight...we didnt hit outside shots worth a damn but we missed too many key free throws that would of won us the game no doubt.
Re: Tigers love the SHOCKER The game changed when Tasmin missed both free throws that would have put LSU up by 4 and then Lazare fouled on the rebound giving WSU 2 free throws that they made. If Mitchell makes his free throws LSU is up 4. Instead he missed both and the game was tied.
Last SEC game I watched was WSU/Tennessee in the NCAA's last year. This LSU team is clearly better than last year's Tennessee team. Both teams looked "bad" today because of how the D was played. Rock solid D from both teams made every possession a test and sometimes that makes the offensive play look ugly. Defenders were just flat preventing the offenses from running sets in many possessions for both teams. Can't wait for the next 2 games in the series and looking forward to seeing LSU in Wichita next year.
Re: Tigers love the SHOCKER The game changed when LSU showed up with no offense. 53 points by the #6 team in the nation on their home court, pew weeeee that stinks. It's very early in the season, hopefully an offense will appear.
Re: Tigers love the SHOCKER That is true as well. The worst thing was Davis insisting on shooting the ball from 1 foot inside the 3 point line. He made 2 at the start and then felt like he had to shoot from outside. His bread and butter is inside the paint. He was better about staying inside in the 2nd half as he made a couple 3 point plays. Also, has anyone ever seen a basketball player that falls down more than Davis? That dude hits the floor every 2-3 minutes.
Re: Tigers love the SHOCKER I was disapointed to say the least. Free throws killed us. I hope Brady has them out til midnight at the stripe. On the good side I never put much stock in these early games. We will work the bugs out by the time SEC rolls around. On the side, my youngest didn't care for it too much. One it was too loud at times...very few times really. :nope: He did jig to the band every now and then. He also had to go to the bathroom every 10 minutes. His next outing will have to wait another year or so.
Re: Tigers love the SHOCKER Said another way.... Northern Iowa. Another underrated mid major last year that came in here and kick our butt last year, only really, to be a stepping stone for the Tigers. Yes, it's annoying that regularly sure hands G.Davis and Tas' Mitchell miss free throws in an ugly game, but it's the third game of the season in what has become otherwise known as the Brady bunch's experimental time of the season. Need to find a rotation. Need to wake the guys and make 'em realize they can sleep walk. Need to teach 'em how to play defense, then hope the offense comes around. The only thing's that's a little annoying is that it WAS a ranked team, and it was at home. You would have liked a better crowd, and a better performance to build momentum. BUT, I'd expect Tas' and the bunch to shoot it better in the next few games. I'd also remember that Terry Martin joins us in a few weeks. We're adding more outside help soon. BTW, Florida loses to Kansas. These games are fun but don't mean a whole hell of a lot at the end of the season. :geauxtige :bball: :champs: LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. PACK THE PMAC.
