when the individual games between two competitively matched rivals tend to be labeled with their appropriate nicknames, you know you've stumbled onto something special. I relish these times, my friends, because it rarely gets better than this ......

earthquake game, interception game, barnburner, etc, etc, etc

That old gym catching on fire was probably the craziest thing I have witnessed while in attendance at a football game.

Isn't that the one Ramah started? Or did he just see it get started?

I just remember hearing a loud boom and looking to my left and seeing flames shooting up behind that ramp. I was in the corner of the endzone where the band a majority of the LSU fans were.

    Who's Ramah?

Yes, with a glass fish on one side and his gun waving posse on the other. Actually it may have been the other people, but this is how I picture it.

Against LSU I just enjoy the game, even the brutality has an honorable beauty to it. Bama is too much like the guy that stalked your sister; though there is an immense amount of pleasure in taking them out, fun isn't a valid descriptor.

'04 may have been the most evenly matched game in the series - it's really a toss up on who played better. Although they won on a BS call, the game as a whole was called fairly & the one call would've only tied the game anyway.

In '05 I will agree that Auburn outplayed us, but it wasn't entirely luck that they missed those kicks. Our defense was stopping them just enough to make them reach for the kicks & it was a windy night - not like the coaches didn't know the risks.

In '06 I think we clearly outplayed them and only lost due to poor & biased officiating throughout the entire game.

Sure LSU won last year based on a last second pass, but we still had a very manageable field goal to make otherwise... I think we deserved to win that one, but of course in any game that close it could go either way.

Good thread from the barners. I've felt for a long time that LSU/Auburn is one of the more underrated rivalries in the nation, although some of the Tubby-related shennanigans have tarnished it somewhat in recent years. Unlike our more traditional rivals, LSU/AU has gotten to the point where you know its going to take 60 minutes to decide a winner.
