And like that, we are tied. 1 slider in the dirt, 1 pitch gets away and that's 2 runs. Keep that pitch in front of you and it never happens.
I think he has improved really well defensively. He has been gunning down runners more and more. Bad timing to have a bad day, but his at bats have been feast or famine. He is either 2 for 3 or 0 for 4. Swinging for Tiger Stadium every at bat will get you that sometimes. He swings at a lot of breaking balls in the dirt. I'd like to see him grow to be a little more consistent.
Nice. Another gator from the pen. This is kinda like the Vandy series where we hit their pen decent, but they made a bunch of mistakes. Helps to have the best baseball crowd on earth too.
He earned the starting job. Shitty days happen to everyone. I'd still take him over Papeirski at this point. Newman on the bump for the cheese.
Hell yeah! That's 1. Tigers win 5-4. Newman only threw 9 pitches, so we can use him again over the series
A question for somebody who knows the rule book: Tonight's win was the 10th consecutive game that LSU won. But it was game 2 of the series. If the Tigers were to lose the resumed game 1 would the win streak still be at 10 or would it officially end at 9 games with tonight's game starting a new streak?
