i agree we finished the season much better than our mid-season slump. but will that be enough to make up for the season as a whole?

i am really interested to see how this team handles the loss last night.

i really really want to be wrong here. i am hoping i am just in a pessimistic mood from being sick and exhausted.

either way, if we get in, its gonna be on the bubble.

Baserunning issues continue early in game 3.

Katz tries to stretch a single into a double and gets caught. Had he stayed at first, there would have been runners on the corners with Mahtook up and 1 out.

When it works the coach is a genius, but lately it seems like everyone is trying at every opportunity. You just can't do it every time.

Watkins out of the lineup, Lowery in LF batting 6th, already got a hit. Jones batting 1st instead of 9th.

Going into the bottom of the 2nd, score is 0-0. Tigers have stranded 3.

    Eades on the mound

MSU gets 2, 2 out hits. Mahtook able to make the catch to end the second, still tied at 0

    3rd inning

Runners on the corners, no outs. MSU makes a pitching change
    Katz out swinging
Mahtook walks to load the bases
Nola gets a single to score 2!
Lowery with his 2nd hit, Mahtook scores!
Pitchout, Nola gets run down for the second out
    Hanover strikes out

I'm listening, not watching but it sounded like Nola was trying to steal 3rd?

Grounder to 2B, batter thrown out
Grounder to SS, batter thrown out
Grounder to P, batter thrown out

    LSU 3 - MSU 0 after 3

It must of been the call because they pitched out and the batter fanned at it anyway to try to give him time to get there.

MSU radio didn't care to provide the details, they were just happy to see the out. Go figure...

    4th inning

    Edward walks
Ross bunts, thrown out. Edward makes it to 2nd
    Jones flies out to CF
Rhymes deep to LCF, but ball is caught

    Over Nola's head, MSU w/ a man on 1st
Wild pitch, runner advances to 2nd
    Deep shot, 2 run HR.
Walks the next batter on 5 pitches
Fly ball to LF, runner tags and gets to 2nd
    Hanover catches a screamer
    Popup to 2B, 3rd out

    LSU 3 - MSU 2 after 4

I'm gonna take a minute and catch the end of some of the other games...

Didn't catch the details, but Lowery may have gotten an RBI on his 3rd hit. If LSU makes it to the NCAAs, Watkins is not likely to be starting.
    LSU 4 - MSU 2

Tennessee scored in the bottom of the 9th to beat Auburn

Mahtook can't get to the ball, MSU starts the bottom of the 5th w/ a double
Base hit to LF, runners on the corners
    Fly out, runner scores
    DP ends the inning

    LSU 4 - MSU 3 after 5

Theoretically, I agree with you. Our team has not done enough to warrant a shot at a national championship. However, if they are going to have a 64 team tournament, then I think we should be in it.

I just heard the MSU announcer say that if UGA losses to Vandy today they will be eliminated from the NCAA Tournament because you have to be over .500 in the regular season. That true?

Looks like they will be the 5th or 6th seed in the SEC.

Sorry, I missed the central point. Regular season? I didn't know that, I thought conference tournaments applied.
