Tennessee is a good football team. Not this good though. This Tiger team is an embarrassment. I understand we are young, inexperienced, what ever, I see no progress. The coaching is horrendous. Not only are our guys not ready to play, they make mistakes after mistake on basics. QB has no concept of when to throw the ball. He throws late virtually every time. This is coaching. The special teams coach and offensive coordinator need to be fired NOW. The play calling and play designs are not working. I have complained about lack of zone block running and lack of screen pass and tunnel screen plays. They ran a couple today and they worked. But then didn't run them again. Time to play another QB. Daniels can't play in the SEC. His read, progressions and release are too slow. Need to move him to running back or slot. or just put in the triple option and let him run every play.
That’s too bad. It just seems to be expected that this enters into the equation nowadays. I don’t expect BK to bench Daniels, but once we string together some more losses, I expect BK to start taking a look at next year’s QB situation assuming Nuss will be the guy. Maybe that assumption is faulty. .
I would like to believe that people finally understand what a complete rebuild actually entails. But this is the internet and unrealistic expectations are the norm. We got Florida next week….
The reality is you win in the trenches and we got dominated on both sides. Our OL is brand new and the talent level is just not there. I like the two young tackles, but they were in HS at this point last year, so they're going to struggle. The rest of the OL are not SEC level players. IMO, the defensive line has been a big disappointment. I thought Gaye would be more of an impact player, but he's been invisible. The middle of the DL was supposed to be a strong point, but they have underperformed. Until we improve in the trenches, we're going to continue to struggle and have to fight tooth and nail for every win.
FU = the beginning of stringing together losses. At least, that’s how I am feeling right now. FU is not good. Barely beat Mizzou at home. This could end up being a win one, lose one situation as well.
I don't thinks much of a difference who drew up the game plan. You need the players to execute it. We obviously don't have them.
