Even with our bullpen... that was the reason we didnt get it done... this year I have heard we will have a great pitching staff.
like i said though...i could have gotten us to omaha easily...to go 0-4 the past 2 years is unacceptable IMO....we had more talent than any team in the nation last year
I don't believe you...and I apologize for denigrating your baseball knowledge. I also don't believe you could have managed the ego's, conducted the practices, organized fall baseball, made out budgets, arranged and found subjects for speaking engagements, handled parents, schoolwork, TOPS and scholarship issues, set up the travel schedule, organized the schedule itself, attended the conference meetings on baseball, administered the program, and most of all... I don't think you could have recruited the way Smoke is... John Brady and Smoke Laval are apples and oranges. The subjects are different. Laval has gone to Omaha two years in a row. He's made it to the Super Regional round each year. He's won an SEC Championship-OUTRIGHT. Laval has done it in an Era in which the NCAA went to a 64 team format. Brady has won a 4-way SEC Championship, and has never won an SEC Tournament, nor an outright SEC Championship. Brady has won two NCAA Championship games to move to the Sweet 16. He has done all this in a 64 field NCAA Tournament format (Some would say 65). So, Laval goes to the Elite 8 in his respective sport is concerned....and Brady has not... Laval's been to the Sweet 16 each year he's been coach, and Brady's been once... You still want to compare? Gimme a break...Smoke bashers are complete fools...Brady bashers are people who are tired with mediocrity...
that's the absolute worst post i've read my entire life....Smoke Laval inherited a ****ing dynasty...5 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 10 YEARS brady inherited a program that was on the verge of the death penalty...you are right when you say comparing them is like comparing apples and oranges...i don't care what you say, LSU baseball should NOT go 0-4 in the CWS...we should actually WIN a few games and COMPETE for another national title...u don't win 5 national championships and then just all of the sudden not even be a factor.
This is a idiotic statement. This is also an indefensible statement. There is no way you can prove that you'd be a better coach. I can almost GUARANTEE you that you can't recruit, which is probably at LEAST as important. What a foolish comment...This guy's been to at LEAST the Elite 8 in his respective sport's 64 team field of the NCAA Tournament... Brady's only been to the Sweet 16 round once, and he lost his only game there. If you want to compare them in that manner, then your premise sinks like the Bismarck... Results talk and BS walks 'round here, LSUstudent...You give my old screen name from Tigerbait.com a bad name...
while that is a mostly fair comparison, you have to consider that smoke was handed the top program in the country. LSU was like the duke basketball team of baseball. so he already had a hell of a system to start with. smoke should be and is held to a higher standard. the baseball team has history and prestige, and should compete for the world series every year, like the yankees. the basketball team has always been a relatively average SEC program, so second in the west, like last year, really isnt so bad.
Your statement is the one I'm talking about, cretin...If you compare the two, Smoke is MUCH more successful straight up, and has done more in the conference itself as well... He has had trouble (Stavinhoa should never get another at bat in the CWS, PERIOD, I don't care if he channels Eddie Furniss & Todd Walker next year), but I think that when you look at the two, Smoke's level of success is MUCH higher and his job security is much safer than Brady's...PERIOD... Say what you like, but Brady was gone had Emmert hung around...Everyone around TigerTown knew it, and with him gone, the command never came, so Skip didn't pull the plug... You are the one who said that my support of Smoke was ironic in comparison to my lack of support of Brady...Now you're going back on your own statements...
dude, why must u take my comments so seriously....me talking about being the coach of one of the top baseball program in the nation is OBVIOUSLY a tongue-in-cheek comment....i'm mean god damn do u really think i'm being serious?? that almost makes you an idiot for thinking that
