But it's no tourney. It's decided by humans and computers. And now that humans have LSU #4 for some dumb reason, you don't like it.
The rankings hopefully won't matter. We should still be the number one seed if the selection committee does their job.
During the game the lady commentator kept saying "No one in the country plays a tougher schedule than Tennessee!" Ooookay.
I know they did, but in an interview the head of the selection committee did say the RPI was a very small part of the equation. Hopefully it is.
Who gives a rip about the RPI? Tennessee was beaten by LSU by TEN once...then comes up with a 2-point win that could easily have ended up a loss. No way do they deserve the #1 seed. But that's all I've been hearing on sports talk up here in Knoxville. All about how they're the best thing ever. It's amazing how strange people act when their men's team can't even make the NIT...
I don't care about the rankings, but if the Lady Tigers aren't a #1 seed, then I'd say we wuz robbed.
Guys, This is Women's basketball--essentially only one step ahead of college baseball on the national sports pecking order. Tennessee would be playing in the Knoxville regional if they were the 15th seed. It's all about getting fans in the seats. How many of you would stand for the LSU baseball team to get shipped out west while Tennessee (assume they're #1 for the sake of argument) was the top seed at The Box. A sport has really hit the bigtime when the regionals and subregionals no longer have to be hosted on campus by the local guys. The Lady Tigers will be fine. GEAUX TIGERS
