I was not impressed with the effort by the team . They just were not ready to play and i dont think it happens often but Pokey was not sharp either.

She waited till 5:00 left in the game to provide any pressure defense.

To be dominated by that UCONN team shows we simply didnt come to play until a few minutes left in the game.

We should have beat that team by 20 points.

One thing i saw was LSU gaurds do not penetrate at all. Their gaurds were just sagging back deep in the lane and no one penetrated or hit a little jumper to pull them back out.

If LSU plays that poor against Tenn they will get blown out .

Very dissapointing for an undefeated team on National Television to play that poor.

Normally i would credit the opposing team but i think this was just a case of LSU not doing what they have done all year.

Poor shot selection . Outhustled to loose balls . No defense on the perimeter.

I'll take UCONN and the twenty points against any team they play on any day, just tell me how much you want to lose and when.

LSU did not play quality ball in the first half but even on a really good day I doubt they ever beat UCONN by 20, they are just too good. Hopefully this will give the Lady Tigers something to build on.

The reports of the UConn womens team's demise have been greatly exagerated. We may not have Diana anymore and we may not routinely blow out quality teams by 20 points but I don't think ANYONE is going to beat us by 20, not this year. I just got back from Hartford. I shot some images tonight. You have a good team. Do you want to see some pix of them in action? It will take me a day to edit them.

If we had seen LSU play a quality game and then UCONN beat us like that then i would agree with you twisted tiger but this was a very subpar effort on the part of our team and i think UCONN played to their ability.

Show me an LSU team that plays like we both know they can and LSU beats them by 20. Pokey is a good coach but i think even she would agree she waited too long to play pressure defense on a team that was running out of gas.

UCONN coach dictated the pace of the game until the last 5 minutes when LSU finaly started picking up the tempo of the game by playing pressure defense.

I dont mind losing if i feel our team played to their ability and the other team just beats us. But i get very frustrated when we have the better team and just lose because of not giving our best effort. That is how i feel in this game.

Good game ctgoldwing, your team did what it needed to get the W. I don't feel like LSU played up to their potential but UConn is one hell of a team and deserved the win. If LSU wants to rank up there with the UConn's and Tennessee's they will have to earn it on the court and it didn't happen tonight. Hopefully we can learn from it and improve.

UCONN sure does put a bunch of asses in the seats for womens basketball.

    Tough loss.

UConn had 89 consecutive sellouts at the on campus facility, Gampel Pavillion, (10,000 +) and 36 in a row at the Hartford Civic Center (16,000 +). That all ended this season. There were empty seats at the game Monday night - very unusual for a big game. Maybe the ticket prices ($22.00) have finally put a damper on things!
