i dont think it really matters... like islstl said for us to get a gauranteed bid then it depends on who you think will win FL vs Ark.

i dont think we need a guaranteed bid as I still think we will go no matter what.

given that i want USC to win to prevent OSU vs Mich rematch... i feel thats bad for college football and its nothing i want to see happen.

you obviously have a grasp of it.

you're right on. the automatic bid of course is ideal, but I think LSU is going to the Rose Bowl (80 percent chance). No more Herbstreit going off on his crusade about the Big Least. Phuck that bitch!

I'm basing it on the fact that ABC knows how many viewers the state of Florida has vs. Louisiana...and the # of Florida fans that exist around the country (from spurrier days and graduates) vs. LSU.

The only thing going for LSU is the story line of USC-LSU - the delayed matchup. Granted, I think it's sexy..and everyone in La. does, but we can't presume to know if people around the country still care.

well lets just pull for Florida and quash this scenario then

do you believe LSU is definitely the best choice from the Rose Bowl's perspective should Florida go to the Sugar as SEC champs?

I hope we go no matter what, whatever gets us there is fine by me :D If the situation comes and they pick LSU over UF, I'll be the happiest dead-wrong poster in the world.

yeah but you'll be the sickest dead-right poster in the world just the same if Florida loses to Arkansas and gets in over LSU.

go Gators! lets get this process over with

If the 2005 Rose Bowl is any indication, the Rose selection committee is pliable...remember how hard Mack Brown pimped the Longhorns, getting them in over (ironically) Cal?

CLM, Skip, etc., need to push and push the line of thinking Pat Forde has in his ESPN.com article--4 top 10 teams on the road and you finish 10-2, that deserves a BCS slot...plus the 75% of the country that doesn't buy the PAC-10 is a great league BS would prefer an LSU-USC or Michigan matchup.

    Far more marketable, IMO.

There's a lot of truth to what you're saying though I really, really want a piece of those FUSC-ers...either way, it's a high-profile matchup that very well can put LSU in the top 2 preseason 2007...if JR stays, of course.

Latest CBS projection = LSU vs. Southern Cal in the Rose Bowl!

    http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/bowls/predictions

I expect a tough fight, and I'll have to watch the game tonight, but it's been since 1979 since we've had the opportunity to compete against them on the field, and I look forward to it, if it happens this way.
