That is what I was saying who gives a Rats Azz. But I had to point out that the way some of the Bama fans think it is such a blow to be turned down and they shouldnt care. You dont have to preach to me about who the good and bad Bama fans are. I know you are not one of those guys who doesnt look at the true big picture.
That's just college football fans for ya. They'll do and say anything to convince themselves (and others to) their program is the best in the business and they're "different" (in a good way) than any other college in the nation. You can see it on this board, Bama boards and most other college football message boards.
Let us assume that M. Applewhite turned down the offer to be the OC at LSU. Now, was he ever offered the job? He was interviewed. He did consider it...and the $ aspect was discussed. Offer? The hiring process of coaches in this league isn't complicated. There are coaches that are *interviewed,* but not offered. In these situations there is often $ discussed, but, never an official offer. I not only understand what happened with these coaches, but also understand how these situations came to a conclusion. Now, it may have been difficult to find this information when Saban was at LSU, Mich. St., Miami, but it isn't something that has been difficult to find out these days. Seriously, which *offer* do you want to break down here?
I agree. When the Gumps go 8-4 this year, that coaching staff won't be thought of so highly by Gump nation.
All things taken into consideration, 8 - 4 is about where we should end up. Probably will lose one early that we shouldn't and will win one or two at the end that we aren't expected to.
Let's see..... Western Carolina WIN at Vanderbilt WIN Arkansas WIN Georgia LOSS at Florida State LOSS Houston WIN at Ole Miss WIN Tennessee TOSS-UP LSU LOSS at Miss. State WIN La.-Monroe WIN at Auburn LOSS Sorry...don't see any late-season games that 'Bama would be an under-dog yet pull out a "W".
