You strengthen my point. Is beating a coach (who has won a NC) twice in one year not a plus? As far as Tubs winning an NC, I won't go down that road except to say it's hard to improve on a 13-0 season.
That brings up an argument i had with a friend of mine. His high school once went unscored on for the entire football season and the 1st playoff game. They then lost to John Curtis in the 2nd round of the playoffs. My high school went undefeated (15-0) and won the state championship while shutting out no one. He said he'd rather go unscored on with no title than win state. I told him he was retarted because the reason you play the game is to win a championship...not to shut almost everyone out. How about you? would you rather be undefeated with no championship or have 1 loss like LSU did and win the national title?
Your high school example doesn't really make much sense. Your buddys team did not go unscored on...they lost in the 2nd round. Which I'm assuming means the other team scored. And they LOST a game. Proud Tigers point was that Auburn did not lose, they did all they could do. There is like a 30 page thread of us arguing back and forth...so you can go read that if u want everyones opinion on the subject. No need to get into it here again.
And the fact that Jim "Boosters give our guys anything you want" Tressell in the top 5, the credibility hits the crapper faster..... IMO, Top 10 coaches should be based on OVER-ALL achievements--coaching record, conference titles, bowl wins, and running a good program. Sorry, but when you have as much negative media news, and players stirring up all kinds of legal issues, then I'm sorry, those guys shouldn't be on the list (sorry Tressell)....
