so Manny being in the shower is the reason Broxton collapsed last night? yeah it's rather disrespectful, but kinda seems like LA has other issues than Manny being a bit on the strange side.
yeah you gotta decide if he's worth the trouble because you truly end up with 2 sets of rules with manny on your team and based on this season, the answer is no. He is no longer Manny the magnifico at the plate. dem days be gone.
i'd be willing to bet money that he ain't the 1st guy ever to be removed from a game and hit the showers before it actually ends. especially when his team is one out from winning with a pretty good pitcher on the mound. agree completely. i defended Manny even after the way he left Boston. jumped off his wagon when he turned up pregnant on his piss test. and he just ain't the same hitter any more.
baseball is an individual sport. doesnt really matter. all baseball fans will remember in ten years are the stats from this season.
I'll recreate the lockerroom scene: (fade in) Manny Ramirez wipes dry the crack of his ass as Dodger players are filing into the locker room..... TVs are being turned off. The atmosphere seems quite gloomy. Manny: "Yo, man, how'd it go out there?". Manny, sensing something is amiss, tempers his ear to ear grin. Manny: "Hey, fellas......something wrong?" Andre Ethier: "Phuck you!" Juan Pierre: "I should bust a cap in yo ass, like we do down in Nawlins" Jonathan Broxton: "While you were cleaning out your anus, I was giving up a 2 run double to lose the game, ya phucking sp!c" Joe Torre: "Leave Manny alone guys" (fade out) Oh, it was a scene, man.
Alexandria, he played for ASH, graduated in 94, i played against that kid since i was 10 years old. Kind of strange he made it to the bigs no one ever took him seriously, he definitely had wheels, and was a slap hitter who always blooped the ball over the 2nd baseman and shortstop. We always played him accordingly. Funny story about Juan and I, we had a bitter rivalry Pineville and ASH, and we would play them in recreational ball every summer also which was pretty much no holds barred baseball. There was a patch of dirt in Centerfield where Juan played, and where i played and we would always write hateful notes back and forth to each other in the dirt patch. They had a good team, if anyone remembers Jeff Lamont who played for LSU, he also was ASH class of 94. That dude was awesome. I got a diving stab off of his bat once, it was sweet.
Sorry, can't give Manny or any other player a free pass for this. Guess I'm old school but you have to be in the dugout and support your team. Torre giving Manny a pass only further enables him to do the same thing. I know why Torre did it, doesn't need the distraction during the playoffs but in my book its just not right. The fact that he did the same thing during the regular season doesn't make it right.
