ok i can't be the only one who sees the appeal and possibility here.

-the saints really need help at db and have no 2nd round pick to find a quality guy
-roman harper is due 8M and is likely to be cut leaving a void a SS
-rookie contracts are now cheaper making a player from the draft more attainable for a team with cap issues
    - the saints are currently 10M over
-tyrann Mathieu struggles in man to man coverage making him a good option at Safety
-tyrann mathieu had a monster game versus arkansas in '11 playing SS
    - for a 3rd round pick he gives you a high risk but a high reward , compared to who else you're looking at in round 3 hes clearly more talented
-he's from NOLA which will make him a fan favorite just from that alone potential jersey sales/ revenue from him are really high
-Tom Benson likes money from stuff like that

I'm not even a saints fan but to me this just makes alot of sense and more so a fit than on any other team

Saints need playmakers about as much as Mathieu is a playmaker.

I think we should take a flier on him.

He probably needs to get out of Louisiana to limit his distractions, especially if he's going to have money.

Too small for safety and needs to develop better cover skills at CB. Maybe a good nickel back and return man as/if he develops better cover skills.

His first year is gonna be his toughest year mentally. Now he has all the money to buy whatever he wants and he has to control himself. He hasn't shown much self control in the past so he def needs a good support system wherever he goes.
